Rumour: Test Drive Unlimited 2 To Use CryEngine3

After checking out the new Test Drive Unlimited 2 shots my attention was captivated by some of these images, there was some similarities between the images shown at the 2009 Game Developers Conference of CryEngine 3. Some of these images shown contain hints that this engine may be used for the development of Test Drive Unlimited 2.

theres a waste of the engine. who gives a sh*t about driving games?!?! they are pointless and all the same. fun for a half hour and then its back to gamestop.

im sure it will look amazing, but imo it is a waste .

i play just about every kind of game on both xbox and ps3, not just fps's, but driving games are stupid. i dont see how it is fun, but i guess thats just the way i see it.

Just drawings nothing can be took from them. But cryengine would be sweet would be able to see how diverse the engine is.

I want This game so bad! It took a while to get into the first one but it was amazing once you did! I loved the fact you could clock up miles on your car and the realism

this game has been in development since 07

this article is crap, they aren't going to adapt an engine to a game that far into the dev cycle...they aren't duke nukem forever

TDU2 was originally set for a fall 09 release but was pushed back until next year

they didn't possibly have time to throw this game together from post e3 to now....developers didn't get cryengine3 tools until post e3

those concept renders are from about a year ago

also lets look at this
THE PERSON WRITING THE ARTICLE CAN"T TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PAINTING AND 3D RENDER

80% of those shots are digital paints or 3d paint overs...only in game show so far has been a couple building models and a few trails which look pretty much like the original TDU

EDIT:
a kind soul on the original post commented the engine the game will actually use, which is the same tweaked engine used for TDU

im puzzled. all these concept arts looks like motorstorm / fuel.

where are the cities? where are motorways/highways?

if the games is not like the original TDU i will be so angry.
Hawaii is the best setting for TDU. I was hoping to see another cool setting for TDU2. perhaps miami down to Florida keys.

TDU was the only game i enjoyed playing on xbox 360. great scenery, great collection of cars and bikes, great missions, great sound. it was so life-like. i love games with traffics

it is identical to the first TDU, except they added offroad races

same concept of an entire island, except now you can use the portions which aren't nicely flat and paved

...a very welcome addition in my book

They could use that engine, i wouldn't say it'd be a waste, depends on what they are trying to achieve.

Either way, would be better then the unreal engine.
