NowGamer: Gran Turismo 5 Preview

While many have complained about the Gran Turismo series' way of using 'teaser' versions of the games such as Prologue, it does make a lot of sense. Polyphony famously loves to lavish its full releases with attention until they're as good as they can possibly be, meaning that only with a little taster of the action will fans be satisfied with the lengthy gaps between each proper title. So with the finishing touches finally being done to GT5, it's time to finish up with Grid or – if you're particularly slow – Prologue since when the main event kicks off, you're not going to have time to so much as look at another racing sim.

1 - damage/collision and weather will affect handling in GT5 that's for sure
With the release of GT5 I think some sort of effect on handling would definitely occur in the instance of damage/collision, it won't be just a facade to say that the car has been crashed but still performing very well.
Same with weather effects which will be in the game as seen on the trailer - ( Mazda and Audi LeMans racecars "with headlights on" going head-to-head in what looks to be TopGear test track at dusk )
I do believe that is what Kaz Yamauchi-san and his team is trying to implement on this game.
