I really hope they won't be releasing it too early so that it is not rushed.
And if it is released earlier than expected, I hope they do so because they feel they have completed what they wanted to and could on it.

lol, they have been working on the game for 5 years now, i dont think its gonna feel rushed even if its released tomorrow. But honestly i think they have planned to announce release date of GT5 at the same time as they announce the PS3 slim, and GT5 will be out during the holidays, which is epic win atleast in my book. Cant wait for the game myself, and its a game likely to sell more then 10 million units through its lifetime so this could or rather should be really big for sony.

Yea we got GC and TGS coming up. I expect to see alot more concerning this title from those two conferences. Maybe the release date and some more videos (in-game) at GC and a demo at TGS. Then the release coming in the holiday season after building up all that momentum.

GC? Gamescom isn't that big. The Leipzig Game Convention was canned for 2009. It will have to be TGS for the demo.

Actually when I said GC I did in fact mean the Games Convention (Leipzig). How in the world I didn't know it was cancelled this year, I'll never know. On that note though, after looking it up, Gamescom may very well be fairly big this year. Seems the reason Leipzig was cancelled is because all their support ended up backing Gamescom this year. So I would say that means we're in for a pretty big showing there (not of TGS or E3 showing maybe, but big nonetheless). So in light of that, I think I still stick to my previous statement, except maybe the release date will be held off til TGS. Still think we'll see some new and big stuff on GT5 at Gamescom, cause I just don't see them passing over Europe without revealing something, at least some new footage and actual in-game video. Then again maybe I'm wrong, and we'll just have a huge GT megaton of stuff dropped on us at TGS, though I just don't think they'll leave Europe hanging like that come Gamescom. But I do agree, the demo probably will be held off til TGS (like I said above).

I went to Leipzig the other year and, yes, it is canned this time-Nintendo didn't even have a booth last year!

Anyway, I think there's another conference taking it's place(sort of) in Cologne(iirc-but I only read it the other week so could be wrong. Definitely Germany again though)which should be just as big, if not bigger this year-hopefully it will happen as we, the EU , deserve one.

I've always felt GT5 would be out this Xmas and after the PSP game's out the door and selling Go!'s we'll see it for sure.

Ive only played GT1. I rented 3 times but I never bought it. I just used gameshark to unlock all the cars... yea I was a kid then. But damn that game was hard for me back then. When GT5 releases I will give it a proper try.

I really don't see why people give GT4 so much grief. Granted, A-Spec has been the pinnacle of the franchise in my opinion, and GT4 didn't top that, but by no means was it a bad game. Thought it definitely did well enough to deserve the GT name.

GT3 I was like "OMG wow this is like real!" when it came out. GT4 i knew what to expect on the ps2, even though it did look better. today i prefer GT4 because there are some really sweet rides in that game not found in any other game (classic VWs, obscure foreign cars, etc) that are really fun to drive. Having over 700 cars to choose from is amazing, since you can pretty much drive anything youve seen on the road when the game was released. I kinda wish there wasnt a GT5 prologue just so i could be wowed for the real thing...although im sure i still will.

haven't played a gt since 2. correction: haven't OWNED a gt since 2, i think i remember playing gt3 a spec on a friend's system.

sim racers aren't for everyone. they're too sensitive, even though that's the whole point. of course, once you play with a steering wheel everything comes together ril nice. :D

I have to admit GT5P disappointed me. But that's only because it was a tease and made me want even more for GT5 to drop soon. I've since sold GT5P just because I know GT5 is coming soon enough, and wouldn't be getting much for it after that, thus I traded in Prologue towards Infamous. However, Prologue was great for what it was (being so sparse in what it afforded, which I expected, but doesn't compare to what the full game will bring). I still remember my dad coming over while I was playing that one day, he looked at the tv and asked me "What channel is that". I just laughed as I told him it's just a game and he plopped down on the couch to get a better look lol. I can't wait for the full game.

Wish I could be playing it with the G25 as well. Unfortunately $200 is just way too much to pay for a peripheral that I will only use for one game (cause, let's be honest, once I have GT5 there will be absolutely no other need for any other racing game in my library....actually I will be getting ModNation Racer, but that doesn't need a wheel, and $200 for even a peripheral for 2 games is too much out there for me)

I bought prologue last week since it was at Target for $10. I was planning on holding on for the full release of GT5 but I wanted to have a little taste of the game and ever since I popped it in, I've been hooked. I'm stuck at the S events but I've been doing time trials a lot with different cars and each time trying to improve my lap times.

Needless to say, I am really anxious to know the release date. That way I can set myself ready for an all out pure fun racing day.

it is as someone said above..

for me,i loved #1.
2 was okay.
3 was just killer when it came out.loved that game.
4 was good but there wasn't the same feeling as i got from 1 and 3.

but 5 should do the trick as they are trying to put their all into it just like the 1st for ps1,the 3rd for ps2 and the 5th for ps3.

got a dummy disagreeing with both of us,but they can't stop polyphony from making something great.but haters do what haters do thinking they are going to stop our fun.

The Motor Toon Grand Prix games are awesome. Those are my favorite non-simulation racing games (even more than Mario Kart, etc.) Just such fun design and levels, the power-ups, etc. Brilliant debut from Polyphony Digital. I can dream that someday the team revisits that franchise as well as the mech battle genre (Omega Boost!)

Gran Turismo 3 was rushed out to be available in the early part of the PS2s life. The release window plus new engine plus high end graphics and details, meant time was limited. Consider this, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue has 79 cars, Gran Turismo 4 Prologue had over 50 cars, Gran Turismo 4 had over 700 cars, Gran Turismo 3 has just over 150.

Gran Turismo 4 is, essentially, Gran Turismo 3 as it should have been.

It's why I can happily wait x years for Gran Turismo 5, knowing it will be filled to bursting.
