Why Gran Turismo 5 Needs to Be Released This Year

Sony had an amazing conference that showed off so many great games during this year's E3. While people still argue about who had the best conference, there is still one game that stuck out above all the others to me. The game is a sequel to arguably the best franchise on PlayStation. Gran Turismo, not only for PSP, but Gran Turismo 5 for PS3 was shown during the conference and had fans going absolutely insane. The trailer not only showed off the spectacular visuals of the game, but also got most of America excited with the NASCAR license displayed throughout. This is the first time we got a glimpse of the game after Polyphony Digital released Gran Turismo 5: Prologue. When I saw it for myself I got back into the Gran Turismo spirit.

Got excited over NASCAR?... I believe quite the opposite is how most gamers felt.

Seriously it's that shot of the JSGT500 Xanavi Nissan GTR which is the more defining moment when I thought GranTurismo 5 is virtual racing nirvana.

WRC got me excited, NASCAR was more of a "oh... well, that's nice" kind of thing. It's nice they're including it, but I can't see myself using any of the NASCAR machines.

1.2 - only if
you can race Nascar against other cars. I would love to outrun a redneck in a supercar, while he is stuck in Jeff Gordon's car lol.
I think it makes the game more appealing anyway, to the Gran Turismo newcomers. I hope they have a dragstrip like they did in Gt 4, or N4S prostreet, but done better. They better have the Carrera GT in there... or Ill cry.
