I'd have to agree somewhat that those producers appear to know what they're doing, especially in this action-adventure realm. And as a collective they all have some very good experience (also don't forget that Roven produced Dark Knight and Batman Begins as well), so it stands a good chance of being real good. Though those producers all have some not so great movies to their credit as well. Plus I never heard of that writer, so don't know if he'll end up botching this script or not. In the end, I'll have to agree with Giriath and just not get too excited about this yet, I'll definitely end up watching it, but they could end up botchign this, so I'll reserve judgement.

I'll be curious to find out who directs this. I think ideally it would be somebody like Spielberg or Zemeckis (think 'Indiana Jones' and 'Romancing the Stone') or maybe Peter Jackson. Or Raimi could work. Or maybe Richard Donner. (I'm sure I could think of some more if I gave it some time).

As for who to play Drake: Forget anybody else, why not get Nolan North himself to play Drake in the movie. I think that very well may be the way I'd go with it. I'm sure I could think of substitutes, but if I could swing it, I'd pick Nolan North, Mr Nathan Drake, himself.

Let's just hope this writer doesn't botch this and they all turn this into some generic Hollywood movie.

if the movie is based on Drake's Fortune, then the story will be the same and it's great as it is! or...are they going to do any twist to the story? If so, I don't think I like it that way! we just need a great director to convert the game to a movie successfully.

Hard to tell if this will be good or not based on the producers. They essentially attach themselves to most Marvel films out there.

As for writing, I hope they're going back to the source-Naughty Dog-and getting some ideas from them rather than just taking the characters and making their own thing.

Nathan Fillion as Nathan Drake and Jewel Staite (who played Kaylee on firefly) as Elena Fisher.

Nolan North would, of course, be a great Drake, but he just doesn't look enough like him. I feel bad wishing for someone else to take the role from him, but i like Fillion. Emily Rose would probably be good as Elena though.

Nathan Fillion is best known for his role as "Mal" in Firefly / Serenity.

And yes, his wit, charm and ability to act in fight scenes would definitely make him a good person for the part.

The character himself was one actor and the voice was done by Nolan North. I cannot remember who the actor they used for Nathan's features It has been a long time since I watched the making of Uncharted.

If you watched the Uncharted 2 interviews on the us psblog lately you will find that that's not the case. Emily Rose said herself that they liked working on Uncharted so much because they got to do the voices AND act out the scenes as well.

@ Scarved ~ I absolutely agree. Why use some big Hollywood name actors to put their detached from reality "interpretation" on something they 99.9% have no experience with. Use the REAL actors from Uncharted and you get what GAMERS would love to see....the first a TRULY crossover from game to film that would/could actually work (if the script, directing & budget coincide well).

Even if they don't use all 3 original characters but use Drake himself (or additionally at least Sully) they could expand upon a new story or adventure in the essence of the game but not tied to the 1st or 2nd titles so as to have continuity for the Silver Screen. Or imagine if the Naughty Dog team actually wrote the movie so as to have even MORE of a connection to it's fanbase!

Edit @ below: It doesn't matter who Drake was modeled after as Nolan could REALLY pull it off.

that the likeness of Nathan Drake is another actor, NOT Nolan North. Granted, he did do the voice and mocap. But, he wasn't the actor they used to model Drake after.
