They should drop the resolution down to 720p for a steadier framerate.

nah optimisation can do a very good thing in the last few months. if they have it this good now, then it'll be spot on by release. (one hopes...Factor 5 have very high standards)

8 - Still can't believe this is Alpha footage.

I'm glad they decided to put in volumetric clouds (though they need some work). The sheer number of things going on at once really brings the scenes to life though. I especially love the ocean in video 2. Is it just me, or are the waves actually reacting to the explosions??

Awesome videos, awesome game! The second video, with the water & heaving waves was awesome, you could actualy see (I think) the fire reflection on the water as it heaves up & down! And people say this game won't be a system seller! Damn its just awesome!

but hopefully they make the particle system better than factor 5's previous game on the cube which is what it looks like right now...this is one of the games why I got ps3... just keep it an air combat game factor 5 because I know you will mess up the land levels

18 - I keep asking myself whether I'd have enough interest in this game

to justify me purchasing it. Though it's rather one-dimensional of me, I can't help but be afraid that gameplay will be shallow, and that the novelty will wear off and become repetitious rather quickly.

However...

Breezing through that in-depth preview, and learning about the immense variety, as well as a story mode(!), I can honestly say that my ears became instantly perked. I am now able to associate this game to something along the lines of those dogfight airplane/jet flying games, which I am a fan of. So I took a quick peek at the three videos posted in this thread, and I am now officially blown away by the visuals. And hard to believe that it's still in ALPHA stage...The developers also claim that this puppy's gonna be able to run in 1080p without hiccups. Hopefully, gameplay will be on par with the game's visuals.

Nonetheless, from what I gather from these incredible videos, this may very well be the first PS3 game to be released which will truly represent and justify Sony's once-questionable catch-phrase:

"Play B3yond."

I reckon we will indeed be doing just that very, very soon.

Ahhh damn you deep brown this scrolling side to side to read people's comments sucks, lol...unless that's just me, who knows...anyways these look ok, the water is great, the lighting in 3 is good but other than that I am still not impressed with this, like Heavenly Sword I felt like I have seen WAY better than this already so I don't get it. Anyways some of you seem to be saying it's an alpha build and if that's the case that's good, I give it a break like I do Halo 3. Hopefully this will be as good as advertised

About HS...they've been playing with the HDR...all the effects are still there, nothing has been downgraded...and HS is only just at alpha as well.

Ps. I hope this has taken everybodies attention off of that absurd flamewar at the top of the page...and guess what 360 owners...Too Human waters break tomorro ;)

pps. still very impressed by the visuals...lighting, water, texture of the ground, texture of the human models.

I think the game shows some promise, I was going to say how disapointed I was in the graphics and game play but you DB said it's the Alpha build, so if that's true then it's looking good so far.

It has a long way to go to smooth out, especially the frame rate and the colors weren't very good, but in alpha phase it's coming along.

I'm going to guess there's no multiplayer and that the game will be about 6 hrs. to finish. Hope not though.

I've been worried about this game for a while, cuz not only do I love Factor 5, I love dragons, so when you put your hands together, pretty big boners all around. But the initial gameplay videos seemed a little wonky. With the God of War-esque slow-moments added in, it seems to have smoothed things out a lot. I love the idea that the ground troops battle outcome isn't determined either. It's like piloting a dragon in Lord of the Rings. So oh-some. I hope everything stays smooth for release.

Totally owned by this title. In the 3rd video the rotating moutain got my tongue away, not that I've previously been left speechless for a long, long time when Shadow of the Colossus hit PS2 its remains a behemoth forever...but looking at those giant boulders with such sick poly-count, and dynamic lighting changing with their rotation...all the while firing and then shutting eyes, its what next-gen is all about, an experience not had before !!! A day-1 buy for me !

38.1 - The latest editors interview says that it's running 30fps

whether 720p or 1080p.
If they can fix the jaggies in the frame rate, they'll be looking good except the fire still looks cheap and the grass/ground in the ground fighting was also weak. But that should be minor fixing.

Are you crazy man? Didn't you see the waves come off from the explosions...it looks amazing. If you're talking about constant waves formed by the moon and the wind...then that only happens in shore, or it depends on the weather...being in the middle of the sea quite a lot down south of the UK, the sea often looks like that ;)

Crazydude...I dunno...living by the see and boating to the Isle of White every now and again...I'd say their water is pretty spot on. ps. the tech they use for it was provided by some scientist researchers (can't remember who they were)
