Hey a game site has a placeholder date, they must know when a game is going to be released, cause thats the first person Sony calls.

They announced GT for the PSP at E3, why would they overshadow that big announcement with another for GT5 and have the media totally bypass GT PSP and give all their column inches to GT5. The Tokyo Game Show runs in September and is on home ground for Sony with a huge GT fan base in Japan so it may well have a release date for TGS. Sony have been around long enough to know you don't punch yourself out in the first few rounds and then get knocked out later on. They teased everyone with a video at E3 while still keeping a lot of media focus on GT PSP and they can continue to build the hype with more details such as a release date at TGS.

An announcement closer to Christmas to perhaps tie in with a special GT5 PS3 bundle keeps the game in the minds of consumers that little bit closer to Christmas.

they release it at the Tokyo auto show (october) or SEMA (november) . If not than it will most likely be next year.

I hope its released in december. Assuming forza releases in october that gives me 2 months to complete single player, which frees up time to play gt5 single player mode while simultaniously kicking everybodys online *sses on both games!

It most likely is a placeholder date, but why would they announce the date at E3? There's surely not a lot of people who'd put a specific date out for a big title so far out for fear of it slipping (GTA IV tattoo style).
As for the actual date, well if it links with the PSP edition then why wouldn't you want both out on the market as close as possible.

GT5 and GT5Portable will release day and date of each other. Why? Because Sony is Trojan Horsing us. To get the 'full' GT5 experience, you'll need both games, and they'll need to be connected. And then, either damn near every game you pick up will do this, or it'll fade away.

This ends the paranoid ramblings of a dude who smokes WAY too much chronic and has nothing better to do.
