I doubt it. I was hoping it would be playable at E3. When it wasn't, it pretty much confirmed the game wont be releasing this year.

Possibly, or more likely they are waiting until TGS to announce it. I think it's possible that it will be this year, probably late November or early December, it's just that they haven't finalized it because Sony let's them keep working until they are done perfecting it. I think this time Sony might put a little pressure on Polyphony to finish in time for the Holiday season.

I still think that GT5 will come out in Japan by the end of 2009 with Western releases in early 2010.

As far as GT5 not being playable at E3.... well to me that doesn't exactly confirm that it's not coming out in 2009 because in an interview at E3 Kazunori said that GT5 can probably be released at anytime now, so obviously the game is in a near finished state if he said that.

And really, it didn't exactly need to be playable at E3 because it's not like people don't know what GT5 will look and play like... it's going to play and look like GT5 Prologue.

Anyways, I'm expecting a confirmed release date at the Tokyo Game Show.

With all the noises that have come from PD thmselves this year(won't be 2010, could release whenever we like eyc, eyc) I feel that the PSPGo! and GTPSP are what's keeping the date from us-a date that will be in 2009 for the world and not just Japan, imo.

Til this year they wouldn't even mention possible release and even said it would be rleased "when it's ready" once or twice. Now, with the PSPO version needed to propel a few Go! units out of the door I feel that once that's out on the sgelves we'll see the full game announced for a holiday release worldwide, if not even sooner.

Anytime after the PSP game and there'll also be plenty of PS3-PSP libk up play for those with both consoles and games. I've thought and thought about it and last year PD weren't even saying the PSP game was still in production so I'm assyming the full GT5 IS practically ready to be boxed and the time used while promoting the PSP game will be used for late polish and localisation.

I truly feel that by Xmas we'll all see what it's like for ourselves. Sony, for once, may be trying to keep a secret properly.

1) they don't want it to compete with the PSP version so they wont announce it till after that releases and they will probably use that to build up the hype. When is TGS compared to the PSP versions release date?

edit: one month after PSP version is TGS. That will be the perfect time to say GT5 is done and is going to be released in the 120gig bundle in December for a $399 price point. With an 80gig slim for $299 with some other game(Madden 2010?)

Yeah, you could be right, but it would be a bit strange to have such a short timeframe until the game is out. Usually one knows months before such a big game like GT5 would be out, like GOW3 getting the march 2010 date at E3 this year. I guess strange things have happened, but would surprise me greatly if it was out in 2009. No time frame usually means next year.

Still, if GT5 is announced for 2009 at TGS, it would be a great surprise for PS3 owners, so hope you`re right :)

Prologue AND the PSP game serve as hype/publicity for the game as well esp when they can announce cross game features too. They drop this in a bundle, with a price drop and Sony will be using their heads-it's a great move if it's used and/or possible.

Honestly, I'd bet on it being out this year.

It has to be an "epic monster" or it will be bad news for the PS3. IMO, it will sell like crazy no matter when it gets released, assuming all these "day one" people actually stick to their word.

that a racing sim.Didn't Need for speed have something like that
slow down time.just because Forza 3 put that rewind sh!t in their
game it made it less sim more NFS series.
