MAG Developer Diary Ep 1 Released

PSB: Hi everyone. After the successful unveiling of MAG at E3, I'm sure everyone is itching to get more information on what MAG will offer, who the different PMC factions are and why everyone is fighting in The Shadow War.

To help explain this and hopefully answer your questions, Zipper have provided a short movie that should give you an insight into some of the cool characters and weapons, different areas of conflict and the true scale and intensity of the combat.

I'm keeping an eye on this game. For me its all about the "feel" of the shooter. You know, the little things that you can't really describe such as how tight the game feels, the pacing, and how long it generally takes to kill someone. Balance is another very important issue. I'm just curious to see if a game with this many people will be able to function in a market where many people enjoy the lone wolf scene. I think it is certainly possible due to the way the game is being designed and it will be interesting to see it play out.

The real question is, will there be a MP shooter in the next 2 years good enough to pull me away from Modern Warfare 2? ;)

1.1 - @ PistolPumptMonk - MAG is that game...
... if your ready to step outside of the arcade and experience a truly rewarding FPS.

MAG is known for it's massive maps with 256 players, but it will also have some smaller ones for those seeking a more traditional match. These maps will be with anywhere from 64 players, and as few as 32 players (from what I've read somewhere). So if your not up for a long battle, then you can still contribute to your PMCs efforts in a "skirmish" type of battle.

Also, MAG offers something no other Shooter has right now.... a career. Yes in MW1 you can get the rank of Gold Cross General, but that barely means anything. In MAG, you will get the opportunity to actually command human troops... not some AI bots, but real people in real time. And thankfully, only those who have earned it will get to be the Commander.

Not sure what MW2 has to offer in the multi-player dept except more of the same with a few more perks. And since I honestly haven't even touched the single player in MW1, doubt I'd do so in MW2 as the gameplay for offline and online is completely unrelated. So that's not even a selling point for me with MW2.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll get enough info by drop date so good luck.... ohh and Go RAVENS!!!
