Honest question here. Because my jaw is honestly on the ground at the level of ignorance.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is one of the most advanced game engines ever made for a gaming console. The only thing to improve on is to make the game stream, but unfortunately for the 360, No games have been shown to stream with a heavy graphical loads without chugging or using loading gimmicks like elevators/hallways. And multiplats have a uphill battle since streaming for 2 specifications, which includes 1 unit without a hard drive, is a tall order.

Let me guess, A.I/brown was no problem for the Gears of War audience right?

Pretending Metal Gear Solid 4's engine isn't remarkable is one thing, but then pretending that the color has anything to do with the engine is another.

Thats just, sad.

Nevermind, you've clearly never played MGS4. Each Act had its own color harmony. the opening act was brown. Hell an entire part of the game is white. Yet, you're all dying to play Metal Gear.

And in all fairness, this proves that the 360 can't run PS3 engines. but the PS3 can run 360 exclusive engines perfectly fine, sure with aliased edge here, and a rough texture there. But runs it never the less. Not sure why you guys aren't catching onto that. They have a complete engine working on a ps3, which created one of the worlds most graphically advanced engines..

That wont run on the 360. This throws all the multiplatform comparisons out the window with the simple choice of konami deciding its more cost effective to not try to get the Year old MGS4 engine running on a 360. But that a middleware solution will be better. Where as other developers easily PORT 360 engines to the PS3.

not a credible source anyway, but...come on! that's to be expected.

kojima optimized the hell outta the engine in place for mgs4 on ps3. but the very same can be done xbox 360, you guys are SO way in over your heads. a game engine is a suite of code, that's all. kojima and his programmers worked with ps3 to get the best possible results. the same thing that EVERY dev does when they build a game, it's just part of the process.

the engine they build for MGS Rising is going to be different. ps3 and x360 are different machines.

Those aren't Bull Shots! Those are all in game. The game features 4xAA making the game look smooth. Also, graphics aren't the only reason why MGS4 wouldn't work on the 360. That game has a really powerful AI, hundreds of textures to become camouflage to, a large sound track, lots of high quality dialogue and sound effects (7.1), and over 70 high quality weapon models.

Cut-scenes don't take up that much space. It's only scripting since its all done in real time/in-engine, not pre-rendered. That's why cut-scenes will fade into gameplay with no graphical change. Play the full game in 1080p, and you will be amazed at the audio/visual and technical fidelity. It's unmatched.

Well, I'll tell you this. If you played the game, then you wouldn't be requesting non "bullet shots", lol.

Besides, how can you determine if [enter game here] can run on [enter console here] by looking at pictures? That doesn't make much sense, especially if you haven't played the game. You can't determine that by pictures.

And MGS4 looks exactly like those pictures. It looks better in motion, and the in-game cutscenes look fantastic. Overall the game is very polished but I don't expect you to know that since you haven't played it.

MGS4 was a good looking game but nowehere near as good as Ps3 fanboys claim. There are lots of games that look just as good: Resident Evil 5, Gears of War, Assassin's Creed, Bioshock and Uncharted to name a few.

I am glad that they are building a new engine. Metal Gear Solid Rising will probably look better than MGS4 and it will look better on the 360 than on the PS3.

Congratulations. With your comment, you have officialy dragged fanboyism to a new low. MGSR will be a MAJOR multi-platform release - which includes PS3. Yet you are hoping it fails - therefore actually hoping a major game for YOUR console fails solely because a good MGS game on PS3 would also mean a good MGS game on 360, and that is just a repulsive thought to you and the 51 people who agreed with you. You and your kind apparently feel that the PS3's lineup is not strong enough to stand on it's own merits vs. the 360's lineup, so you have to try desperately to disparage the 360's games and convince other morons that a 360 MGS is simply incapable of being a great game.

Mgs4 isn't possible on Xbox360 because it 50gb of uncompressed goodness, if they were to port it to xbox, they had to compress and make multiples disc, and this would downgrade the graphics and overall goodness.

dude, first of all MGS4 was done on a dual-layered BDR and not a 200GB one. Yes, according to Kojima Productions, they are working on doing a better game overall in terms of graphics and the rest of the game's aspects. Kojima Productions always have given us top notch quality games when it came to Metal Gear Solid. Every MGS game released was proven to look and play better than the previous one. It's a fact and already proven in the past that KOJIMA productions will always move forward and never go backward in developing games specially when it comes to METAL GEAR SOLID.
