PlayStation Store Design Revised with Comparison

"While everyone was busy watching the Sony Press Conference last night, the PlayStation Store for Europe and North America recieved some changes to the layout. Most of the changes appear to be cosmetic [see comparison image at source], but we have noticed better loading times and even a new sound when scrolling through products. We've drawn up a simple comparison between the old store layout and the new one to highlight the main changes."

1.1 - The background on the video...
...portion of PSN is too bright on certain screens. I cannot read the titles and can only see the pictures for the video on the left. It was blinding at times.

Otherwise it's very slick and I like the little sound prompt when you move the cursor now it wasn't as pronounced before or maybe I always had the sound down when browsing PSN...oh well.

I agree. I had problems with their E3 page, of all places. A white background and white text didn't blend too well, though I'm sure Sony will iron this out soon enough. (just switch the text to black and all is well)

That pissed me off some.. It's like they don't take it into consideration when making improvements. 1, the text are almost impossible to read on the video bkground, another example the clock and the battery info are overlaid on the XMB and 2 to top it off they did not give you the option to change text color for certain backgrounds which they themselves supply. Not to rant or complain or anything but they should take all that into consideration when doing updates so they won't take forever to go back in and give you what should have been done/fixed in the first place..... overall I love the new look.

seems w/ some people its hit or miss.

i usually dont have slow download speeds unless the server(s) are being raped.

6 - The new store looks cool but...
Why isn't there a full screen option? I have a big ass TV and when I go into the store its not even full screen. @ 1080p, its a pain to see small text like game descriptions and what not. Not a huge deal but it would be a nice option. Cool search function.

6.2 - You can see it in the screens.
There is about a 2.5 inch gap on each side. Thats space they could be using to make the store easier to read. Any way like I said its not a huge deal. I just have to lean forward a lil to read the text here and there.

Must be something wrong with you dude.

I have a 52" Samsung HDTV @ 1080p, and the store fills the whole screen. It looks magnificent! I'm really digging the changes.

I just wish the US store had a search button for the games section (I know there is one for videos).

SONY is all for gamers.....:)

All these updates cost them lots of money and they still giving it out for FREE. I just don't know how they can afford it.

Anyway, I'm glad they continue to improve PSN.

Down load times too long? Can anyone give me an estimated time it took them to down load the Uncharted 2 beta? Thanks I would like to know what mine was in comparison. It was around 2hrs. I did it last night around 20:30hrs.

Parts are unreadable (video, list mode) and Sony is going through and deleting anyone who makes these comments on the forums. Crappy job in my opinion.
