Team Fortress 2 update has new achievement scheme

Are you digging the new Spy and Sniper weapons? What about the new way achievements are being handed out? Not as much fun is it? Valve has completely done away with rewarding players with new weapons by earning achievements instead putting in a much different system.

1 - I can tell this
Someone over at Valve really likes MMORPG's... Maybe they should have just made a MMO rather then a FPS

1.1 - The people who like the old "unlocks" are now complainings it's a MMORPG!?
MMORPG's reward people who sink lots of time into the game. The more skill you have, the less time you have to sink.

The old Valve system rewarded people who sink lots of time into the game. The more skill you have, the less time you have to sink.

The new Valve system rewards people who sink SOME time into the game.

If the new system is a MMORPG, then so is the old system is a MMORPG x 2. Thanks.

I think it's a good idea. I really don't have the time or patience to get the acheivements for the unlocks. The new way is much better imo.

This new way is GREAT... for the lazy.

Really. Valve has shafted everyone who worked extremely hard for their unlocks. I worked my ass off for those, and I feel really... let down. Thanks a lot Valve.

Also, for anyone who says, "I don't have time to unlock achievements, I can only play for 1 or 2 hours a day..." Shove it. When I was in school I only had that amount of time a day and I was STILL able to unlock everything. YES, it was hard work, and yes, I went awhile without getting my weapons, but it was worth it. That sense of accomplishment, showing off your new unlock, owning noobs, it was fantastic. You're just being lazy.

Yeah, not to be an arse, but aren't we all lazy in the first place, playing video games? =)

They did this because people complained about achievement farming and people who disrupted normal games in order to gain achievements. Now everybody just has to play normally in order to get the new weapons. Win-win, I'd say. The new weapons aren't supposed to be upgrades, they're supposed to be sidegrades. You shouldn't be playing the game to get the unlocks, you should be playing the game to, well, play the game.

Hmmm, seems a bit dodgy.

They could have just lowered the amount of achievements you have to get to unlock a certain weapon, that way it still offers a challenge but just less of a challenge than before, instead of doing away with the whole system.

I hated going out of my way to get achievements. I guess this is better for me, but I haven't been able to play it yet, so I don't know for sure.
