is full 1080p graphics, A map editor, Scenery damage/destruction, gold weapons only for prestige 10 players, And all gold weapons available for choice, Extra Perks for prestige players, different type of helicopters to call upon, and finally introduce the holy hand grenade and the flying sheep

are you talking MW2 or Worms?? hmmm...(imagine CoD with flying sheep!)

the game is going to be released this year and there is no screenshots or what so ever from the game released by IW! are they not confident enough to compete or what? I don't think that they should worry that much anout KZ2 because MW2 will surely sells more just because it's another CoD! even WAW sold in the millions while not being developed by IW! but...I'm also not expecting KZ2 level of gfx but if they include a coop story mode, I'll think it through - even with only CoD4 gfx with a little improvement!

It NEEDS a different ranking system that doesnt just reward people who play a lot. It needs to reward good players. XP is dumb unless you can lose XP when you suck.

I think that Killzone 2 MAY get the nod for Best graphics. But by the end of the year, something else may even surpass it in that regard (Uncharted 2 is already heading in that direction). K2's gameplay is good fun, but it is pretty standard 1st person shooter stuff.

The year is still early, and IW definitely has the chops to make a better game overall, whether the graphics for Modern Warfare 2 take a bigger leap or not.

they should just keep doing what they do and im sure they could make it GOTY. i was not a big fan of fps untill i played MW and now im hooked. i cant go a day without playing MW. the game was well balanced from the perks to the weapons so if they keep to the working forumula and not drastically change MW2 im sure it will get GOTY

but I do agree, if they do make it a 'MW 1.5' personaly I will be a bit disapointed, but it is hard to think of much that IW can do to improve it much.

How did KZ2 revolutionise the genre?
The multiplayer mode where it changes gametype every 5 mins was so simple and genius but thats it.

IW did make a very big splash last time out and deservedly so. While I prefer KZ2 prolly cos I like the controls and longer learning curve I do love COD4 and the fact so many still play it is testament to it's accessibility and longevity.

I imagine we'll see a great many co-op options, better stat tracking, better matchmaking and, hopefully a longer and even better SP than last games efforts. Trouble is, will they be able to recreate the splash they made with MW? It'll be harder this time and I feel Uncharted2, Bioshock2 and a few other games will have a hand in the GOTY voting. Best FPS of the year r GOTY are possible but it looks much harder this time around.

How are they going to beat Killzone 2's epic-ness and graphics? Don't think they can. Plus Killzone 2 can offer a fragfest that is, up until now, is only doable on the PC. What is MW2 going to do to top that? Are they offering 32 players online with dedicated servers as well? Don't think so.

If you take the shiny coat of paint away from Killzone 2, then the total game itself isn't any better than most 1st person shooters out there right now.

And having a whole bunch of players in a multiplayer match doesn't make a game better either. In lots of cases, it can be come a hectic mess.

Killzone 2 didn't revolutionize the shooter genre, it just made it prettier. Modern Warfare 2 is in a good position right now to become the best shooter of 09. We'll just have to wait and see how things go.

MW2's success will come down to how much IW innovates. If it turns out to be COD4.5 then it won't win game of the year, if they add some new element to spice up the gameplay then it very well might get game of the year.

killzone 2 should get fps of the year award because even though mw 2 will be good, its tech , physics, animation and graphics will be inferior to that of killzone 2 . mw 2 will have lag and bullet lag with inferior technology . i dont care what anyone says, inferior technological games shouldn't win awards because developers would have less reasons to push the boundries and work harder to make the best game possible .

look at gta 4, it was concidered rubbish to a lot of the fans but it won goty . mgs 4 was a more polished game with higher production value,. there were games that were better than gta 4 on a technological level . no multiplatform games should win game of the year in 2009. i haven't seen mw 2 but we all know it wont be as good as ps3 exclusive games on a technological level that are being released in 2009. uncharted 2 , killzone 2 ,and heavy rain should be in the mix to win goty. killzone 2 should win fps of the year .

it should upset a lot of people when inferior games with inferior technology wins awards because thats sending a message to developers that they dont need to work as hard to make a good game thats popular and will sell.

Well to stay on topic, and just going by the pedigree, MW2 has a good chance at being a sure GOTY candidate. Not sure if it can win overall GOTY, but it'll definitely be up there as a good choice for FPS GOTY.

Last night when there was another post about killzone 2 winning FPS of the year. I said the award would be given to MW2 because it will be bringing more to the table this time and will approve on previous faults. The a whole bunch of ps3 fanboys came and replied with "are you stupid, you haven't even seen any gameplay yet". FPS's should never be considered for Game of the Year. What is this, 1997? Seriously, that was when Goldeneye came out. Here we are playing the same game twelve years later, only prettier. That's not to say there haven't been terrific FPS games, but the genre allows for very little innovation sadly.
