Awesome! When I heard two maps as a DLC, I though, great now they are going to rip us off at $10 for 2 maps instead of the usual 4. To my surprise they are giving it away free!!!

Way to go Sony! We still need a better source though as that doesn't seem official enough....

Yeah, doesn't sound official. "The packet is from April 30 in the PlayStation Store and is offered free to download, as was Sony Computer Entertainment announced Friday." I'm sorry, but Sony didn't make an announcement yesterday about it being free- just that it was coming.

This was posted yesterday at the time when it was announced, also when the pressrelease with the date was confirmed. They have the same pressrelease as us (PS3-Sense.nl) and it was not stated if it is free or payed content. Also Sony or Guerrilla Games has not announced anything, so dont have high expectations guys!!

I have been so into SFIV that I haven't touched Killzone 2 in nearly a month. Every time I go to play it I say I know I can do that hard trial challenge with </insert character here>.

It's not that KZ2 isnt that good it's just I am a SF fanatic and I have been up to my ears with shooters this gen. I needed the break but I am starting to miss it.

If anything will get me back to the game this map pack will. Hopefully I will be done with the SFIV challenges by then. ;)

Oh well back to the challenges in SFIV I go.

is because there isn't a market for DLC on the psn. They know there aren't many people who bought killZone2 so there won't be many buyers.

To make a profit you have to have a decent amount of people to sell.

Halo on the other hand has sold millions of copies and people play constantly up to this day. So there is a potential of profit.

By what you and so many other Xbot morons say about Killzone 2 not selling enough, if that were the case then don't you think a multi-million dollar division of Sony corp. like SCE would want to charge for any and every DLC that was released for the game, to recoup as much monies from the budget for the game as possible that were not received back from sales revenues? I mean, that only makes sense right? right you little idiot?

Well what point is there to release free DLC to such a small audience? If Sony had not already recording numbers in the black concerning Killzone 2, what benefit would there be to provide free DLC to a small userbase? If the user base for KZ2 was so damn small, releasing free DLC would not satisfy enough PS3 users to cause any kind of positive effect. The prospects for increased revenue would only increase for SCE by them charging for all DLC, even to a small audience. The prospects of increased revenue for SCE by giving away DLC are ZERO!!! Do you understand now?

If they had already turned a profit on Killzone 2, future prospects for the game are already positive, and if they were to provide free DLC to a wide audience (which is what KZ2 has, whether you want to believe it or not) this would only provide back more impactful positive consumer feedback to SCE, which in turn could lead to higher customer return rates concerning SCE-published or SCE-developed titles in the future.
