the yakuza franchise are very good games centered around the life of a yakuza(japanese mafia). you should try the first 2 games on ps2. it has a pretty good story.

yea ps3 owners have been getting a lot of that lately:D

Yakuza doesn't sell well in the west because the game is set in Japan. If they set the game else where i think it could have a decent chance. Still a fantastic game though can't wait to play it

1.6 - Yakuza 3 is Japanese GTA.
This TRIPLE A exclusive, along with another, Sony exclusive TRIPLE A open sandbox game called Infamous proves that without any doubt that the PS3 is the best console to have games that require high storage...dum dum dum dun!

GTA4 should have been PS3 exclusive. But GTA5 most likely will.

Probably because it "competes" with GTA here in west and GTA is the stronger franchise here. Anyway, i tried the demo on Jap store and it was great.

I really hope it will be coming to USA or Europe, i love feudal Japan, and Yakuza 3 is technically sweet. I must get it, but not in japanese.

The screenshot that accompanies the article above seems to be from Yakuza Kenzan, not Yakuza 3. Kenzan is the one set during the feudal period period.

"such a vivid game-world" sounds about right. LOVE the colors and everything. i dont know what it is about the visuals but it just looks very pleasing to my eye.

i havent played the previous Yakuza games but i tried the demo of this. it was pretty fun to play, the combat is great. loved how you could pull out a smoke in the middle of a brawl lol. (don't think smoking is cool in real life but it was funny).

It will come but just when is a different matter. I think the series struggles in the west purely because nobody outside of those, like us, that frequent game sites has a clue what it's all about.

They may know what Yakuza means but that's hardly gonna make someone drop £45 for a game they know nothing else about, is it?

Honestly, I think if they pushed them at all, esp this more polished HD iteration, they'd do far better. Yes Y1 and 2 are a bit Japanese and barmy at times but that just adds to the charm in my book.

Come on Sega don't drag your heels on this one as more people than usual are expressing a big interest this time round and with a few ads it could be a bit of a surprise hit among those who felt GTA4 took itself a little too seriously. I know the games have nowhere near the scope of R*'s huge epics but there's a similar tone just with added Japanese flavours of slight madness!

One of my most anticipated games.
Hope they release it to NA/EU by this year.

Sega has been putting out some quality stuff as of late, they deserve good sales to encourage more of the same.
