Not a huge fan of Ace Combat personally, it's extremely boring. But Japan seems to love it, so a wise move by Namco, although stupid that they only released on 360 before.

Awesome. If this AC6 is AC5x2 + motion controls (using the Sixaxis like a flight stick) it would be an awesome game that helps push flight sims forward.

i used to like Ace combat on PS2. then i tried HAWX demo. it was bland... i mean i hated the automatic locking. i mean i didn't find it fun shooting down the enemies when they are miles away.. i think i like to face the enemy. dogfight i thought is what i want. those WWI and WWII kinda dog fights. so recently i downloaded the Red Baron demo. and as i started playing i was like - "wtf! i can't even figure out who the enemies are!"

well.. and i got killed million times when i went online.

i'll try the demo of this game before i buy it though.

As development info on PS3 is shared and more is learned ,this is a great trend to see..
Im sure the lowered cost to dev for PS3 and the Dev tools and understanding of SMP on PS3 is ushering a wave of ports that finally can take advantage of the PS3.
This is great !! im hopping the more they learn the more better the games comming over will be..

Bluray and CEll can make a big difference in the environment we play in and alot of Developers are seeing that with the new titles on PS3 ,and getting in on the action,
Inevitably they all ( good devloperss)know this is the future!!
and SMP is not going away, as we hit Moores LAW on CPU.

If they don't learn it now, when the next Gen comes around with 64 CORES they will be left out in the dust clamoring for scraps on the Wii 2's single processor!!(and we know nintendo's first party is most successful)

It's very Japanese centric. May work for JRPGs and games like MGS4, but an arcadey, pseudo-flight sim just feels a little too tacky for some.

Hawx is not bad and until AC comes around on the PS3 its the top tier flying game, no doubt about it (well, if you can't run the AC PS2 series on your PS3).

So, I am looking forward to this game.

BTW: Did anyone try playing Hawx with this flight stick ? Does that work well ?

What they are more likely saying is, PS3 has finally got its install base up to something that matters, so now we can ALSO release these games on PS3 without it being a complete waste of time and money.

Im sure this will be on both consoles, no reason to believe they will not bring it to the console that has the larger install base and sells games much faster.

See, I have trouble with the flight in Warhawk. The main reason is the switching between normal flight and hoovering which changes the controls. I had some practice runs and eventually I got it (well, I am not great, but I could fly that thing).

AC, and Hawx, and also Blazing Angles II got the more traditional approach which I like more. Hawx and BA use the same motion controls (which has improved from BA I to II) and work really well in now even in Hawx. I hope AC will get that, too, and it'll work well.

AC was an exclusive franchise to the PS brand. But becuase the 360 was releasing 1 year earlier than the PS3 then Namco decided to bulid the game for the 360. There is no hidden agenda there, Devs need to create games to make money. If the PS3 was out before the 360 then i am sure AC6 would have been exclusive to the PS3.

AC6 is exclusive to the 360 cause its not coming to the PS3.

A new AC is in the works and that will most likely be multi becase in these times 3rd party devs need to maximize returns.

Since the AC franchise was only on the PS before the 360 came out than yes it was an exclusive franchise to the Sony brand....and since AC6 is on the 360 than YES Sony lost a once exclusive franchise and MS gained an exclusive game.

First of all, there is no confirmation of the title so it might just be a port of AC6 it wouldnt be the fist time a title comes to the ps3 years later, so what they are doing would efectively mean a loss of an exclusive title.

Second, since there is no word on what the project is, it also means that there are not any confirmed platforms which if its a new project your encroachment defense of an its "exclusivity" is pointless and makes you look paranoid not to mention fanboyish. What if the new title comes to the ps3 exclusively to cater to the japanese fanbase only?

Third, you are not exposing the facts, you are pushing your point of view on them and declaring that as fact also known to some as spin. The only fact is that ace combat 6 released on the 360 exclusively this gen but for whatever reason namco decided to break this gen exclusivity to bring the franchise to ps3. You can argue all you want about the history of the franchise the fact is this gen it was exclusive to the xbox and aparently it is no longer so which means microsofts lost an exclusive for this generation while sony lost a last generation console exclusive (as it also existed on arcade form).

So in conclusion, there is no evidence that the franchise debuted only on 360 because of time, deals, or choice but regardless of that it was exclusive (for this gen) no spin and it was lost. There is also no evidence supporting that it is now multiplat that is your spin on things. The only fact you stated on your whole argument was that sony had this franchise exclusive last gen and that it changed console this gen.

To exemplify see if this spin might be Familiar...

sony hasnt lost a franchise as all the other games were exclusive prior then sony didnt lose the frnachise so microsoft got an exclusive game but sony still has the exclusivity on the franchise as all of it was not ported to xbox consoles.

Since the next one is multiplatform the 360 has lost the franchise this gen and sony has regained it.

- They are making a NEW AC game (read the title of the Article). Since its NEW then it wouldn't be a port. And since AC6 is already out then a NEW AC would be #7.

- Where did i say that the NEW AC that they are developing was "exclusive"? AC6 is exclusive, anything after that i said would be multiplat. And there is not enough PS3 in japan right now for a smart developer to only make a game for Japan if they have already entered into the western demographics.

- what the heck are you talking about. This whole paragraph makes absolutley no sense. The facts that i wrote are facts. No spin. You are just using hypothetical examples. - R U really that ignorant? Until AC6 comes out on the PS3 then AC6 is exclusive to the 360. If there was no evidence that the game will be multiplat than it is more probable that AC7 will be 360 exclusive...but like i said it will be multiplat for the reasons that i have stated before. And until you can give a more EDUCATED reason as to why AC6 only came out on the 360, then its a pretty obvious guess that due to not having the kits ready while the game was in development from SONY as stated on many other games when the PS3 was not released, then it would appear that time of console release has EVERYTHING to do with AC6 not coming to the PS3.

Actually i have a PS3 if you took the time to click my Bio and limit your ignorance - as well as i have stated time and time again i love my PS3 and my 360.

I don't pay $400 on a product that i didn't like. And i love my Blu-Ray collection. Just because i am not blinded like the likes of you and the rest of your SDF doesn't mean i hate my PS3.
