And RE 5's already shipped 4Mill, this DMC announcement is not really a huge achievement.

True 10 million over 4 games isnt that great. MKWii has shipped around 14 million this gen alone. GTA has shipped around 13 million units this gen alone, not even counting the DS release numbers when its done.
Good series though and good sales. Not all franchises need 40million in sales.

I think Capcom would take 2.5 million per game easy.

With the exception of GTA, Halo, GT (Not including Prologue's) and Mario (main titles) i can't see many franchises which the developers would be disappointed with 2.5million a game

4 - devil may cry 2 and 4 are
very weak additions to the
DMC franchise. DMC 3 and 1 were such awesome games. dante sold out hardcore. DMC is supposed to be dark, difficult, and fun to play. DMC3 special edition embodied those attributes of gameplay. devil may cry 2 and 4 were painful departures from the series' original roots. i still have DMC3 special edition (vergil is a beast, nero is a noob puzzy) DMC ain't what it used to be. bayonnetta, GOW3, NGS2 is the action norm. Dante has turned into someone's suburban high-middle class dad.

I agree DMC2 was utter crap even though it still sold over a million it completely ruined some ppl views on the franchise and by the time DMC3 had come around the damage was already done it sold even less than DMC2 even though it is still the best in the series..

DMC4 was mediocre I did enjoy it a little though aint gonna lie but DMC3 still the best

The first one was best but, besides the story, I liked DMC4 better than 3.

You're all on crack!!!

If you wanted dark, you would've liked DMC2. It was much darker than the rest of them.

If you wanted storyline, you would've liked DMC4.

What do you guys want from Dante? Honestly!? His lines in DMC4 were beautiful!

DMC3 is still the best...and will be the best action game for awhile. God of War is the only thing that comes close. Please don't bring Ninja Gaiden into this conversation. It doesn't belong in the same sentence as DMC or GOW. Ninja Gaiden isn't that good.

Devil May Cry is the best action series. DMC4's only problems were the backtracking and a bit of confusion on the storyline. Other than that, it was perfect! No other series can touch its combo system...especially with the addition of the devil bringer! That thing is awesome!

Capcom sure does like to report what they 'ship', as opposed to sell.

Eh, I liked the first DMC back in the day. Played it so many times. But since, I think the games after are trash and the dialogue, the Japanese write almost parody-like bad versions of what they think Americans would write. Really embarrassing stuff.

well usually when they ship they are basically sold...no longer their problem... and at least they can give us real numbers and not sale estimates.

7 - Good series
The only blip I remember was DMC2. The others were all good games. A sequel is obviously around the corner.

8 - Guys
Please tell me your problems with DMC2. I loved it.

The only problem was Dante's attitude.

Other than that, it was much better than the first!

I think its because the game was too separated to its objectives, you had to basically go across town to reach the objective point, I personally didnt think it was a bad game ,nor a good one for that matter, but I guess since DMC1 was SOO good people were expecting more in DMC2.

DMC4 was awesome, but in terms of story I prefer DMC1, just because it was the original DMC, but in gameplay, Ofcourse DMC4 is the winner here for me.

As for Dantes attitude, I think he was like that because hes much more mature in that game. Remember DMC2 is currently the a last one in terms of story
