1.1 - Wow preorders to increase globally lol

Preorders are over in the US and Japan but in Sony's "Europe" maybe. PS3 is sitting on every shelf here in Chicago, Illinois and 4 Best Buys, 3 Targets, and 3 Wal-Marts. I called around and asked about Wii's in stock and PS3 (purely out of curiosity). PS3 can be found right now, they are everywhere so if you want one, go pick one up. *sigh* haven't found my Wii yet. As for Sony only playing my PS2 currently (God of War 2), and my Xbox 360. God of War 2 made me dust it off again. Haven't really seen anything worth buying a PS3 for yet. The blu-ray is nice, but I get a video game system to play games. Resistance looked good but not enough to shell $600 for another shooter. VF5 got me close then they told me no online (come on arcade fans demand this!) and Motorstorm looks very good graphically, but from the reviews I read seems more a short rental. So, still waiting for actual good games. GT4, Lair, White Knight, and MGS4 seem more saliva inspiring, but an on-line where I can play second life/sims, just doesn't inspire me to get one. Release Lair, White Knight, and MGS4 today and we can talk. Sony its about the GAMES and GAMES you can play online, but here is a telling statistic, Sony PS3 (hardware) total sales= 754,250, Xbox (hardware) 360 total sales = 359,250; now im not great at math but thats better than 2:1 which is impressive. Now look at the software sales totals, PS3 = 949,750, Xbox 360 = 1,044,000. This should change sharply which the Gundam fans in Japan but thats telling. A system despised by the Japanese which has sold less than half as many systems has sold more games. ITS ABOUT THE GAMES SONY (good ones with depth), release some and I, like others, will pick one up.

Didn't they say sales were up THIS week? WOW in one week people are already touting this as a Sony comeback. Also, a come back from what? Their sales deficite to the Wii, uh.... check the numbers, I would hardly calling selling 45,000 consoles more than an opponent that has a 1 million console lead on you a comback. Not to mention with Wii sales being down 31% they still sold 15,000 more consoles than the PS3 (based on the charts for hardware.) This is actually a perfect time for Sony fans to just sit and watch, and hopefully it will continue. This way, if the bottom drops out again, you don't have a bunch of people clowning on you for blowing your load too soon. Anyway good for Sony, I am glad things are showing slight signs of improvement. Keep it coming.

You do not need a pre order any here at all. You can just do get one. When I went to Game crazy to pick GRAW2 they had 6. 4 new and 2 used. At target they had 4 on display, and Wal Mart had 3.

The only place pre orders will increase will be Europe. Sales in the states will go up if this on line info gets out and people are actually impressed by it enough to get over the $600.00 price tag.

PS3 is over priced i am not personally going to pay £425 and neither are any of my friends which are loyal Sony fans.
I would like to purchase a PS3 but its just TOOOOOO EXPENSIVE.

Sony has it's first game that moves consoles , excellent badly needed for the PS3 , especially in Japan.

Is this Gundam game any good , I always wanted to play a decent Gundam game ?

Wow alot of talk about PS3 Home. Thammer has a point, this news will move very few consoles if at all. Only the hardest of the hardcore will run out and buy a console simply for Home.

The general gaming public wants games not an innovative online community interface. The PS3 IS the third place console this generation in North America , in a very close race.

This GAME is selling well. I congratulate the PS3 on good sales for this game... But its hardly a far reaching trend yet. Not even selling more consoles yet.

Sales Numbers in Japan:

PS3 Hardware Sold = 1/3 Wii Hardware
PS3 Software Sold = 1/4 Wii Software...

This week PS3 sold fewer consoles than the Wii (they've never sold more).

They did, however, sell more games. This could mean they're catching up, but they're still doing poorer than the Wii on games sold per console.

Wii up 120,000 over 3 weeks. Only 20,000 over the last week instead of 40,000-60,000 like usual.

There is no need for fanboyism because both systems have great games coming out in 2007, here are a few games that you will never play: MGS4, Killzone 2, heavenly sword, ratchet and clank, lair, and Getaway, those are AAA games that are coming just in 2007! PS: online for ps3 is free!

Every console - scratch that - MOST consoles take a bit to ramp up. As a 360 owner, I was hoping this would happen soon. What!?! Ok, get up off the floor.

I'm a multi-console gamer, so I'll get a PS3 eventually, but I want a bloody battle between these two for supremecy. I want Killzone to rival Halo 3. I want Mass Effect to raise the bar for RPGs. I want Assassin's creed to be equal and amazing for both systems. I want separate exclusive content for each on GTA 4.

I want C&C and Halo Wars and other RTS for the 360 to rock, and MMOs for both. Like two great heavy weights battling through the final round until the last bell when, regardless of who actually wins by a tiny margin, both are seen as among the greatest of all time.

Like many people have been saying before. Slow PS3 sales are attributed to a lack of must have games. This has been a great week for the Playstation brand in general. If Sony delivers in 2007, I just don't see how they can lose. I'm sure after this week, many analysts are going back and re examining there forecast for who is gonna lead in this generation. I truly believe it's that big. There HOME service actually makes everything before it seem dated. I just hope they pull it off. This, along with popular games focused on all the different territories is going to give Sony a huge pull.

Do people say the PS3 is selling poorly? It is outselling the PS1 and PS2 for the same time period. Its out selling the XBox 360 in America when compared to its launch as well. So again why is it selling poorly?

It was also selling out selling the ps2 at launch, in fact at launch the xbox was out selling the ps2 , and the gamecube but did that stop the ps2 from dominating? NO. Sales trends need to be looked at individually. Whats winning right now? Whats shows signs of slowing down? What has potential? Numbers don't mean anything specially when taken out of context like so many 'fanbois' do in an attempt to make themselves feel beter about a purchase. If you're a real fan of games you shouldn't care which consoles sells most, care about which has the games you prefer.
