The game is so cute and SOO Japanese it's hard to deny it's charm. When I browsed the PS Store last night and saw it I had to have it. Knowing it's from brilliant and quirky Japanese game designer Keita Takahashi, I knew that I couldn't pass it up. Only 5 bucks too!

2 - For you nay sayers
Often we never hear of the playstation network games. But they are often the most inovative games. Just look at Flow, loco roco, flower and of course noby noby boy. But even i don't know that many psn games.

2.1 - Indeed...
Sony's policy of putting quality items on the PSN versus Microsoft's insistance on filling XBL with as much shovelware as they can definitely helps the situation...

2.4 - since wipeout hd
the quality is getting better in terms of graphics and gameplay, and there are so many really good games already in 09 and lots more on the way.
Apart from how mad noby noby boy is,it's probably the most complete Ps3 game yet.
trophy support, custom soundtrack,XMB screen capture, record hour long vids, record and upload to youtube without leaving game.it's feature packed.

Pop-cap games for PSN aside.
They really should be selling those in packs of 3 @ $12 if not at the same price as Noby Boy.

I was playing this yesterday, and my g/f walks in and goes, "What the hell is that?" My answer? "This is what you get when japanese game developers do absurd amounts of LSD and then decide to make a game."

Definitely a viral game. A friend of mine was telling me about it yesterday, these were his exact words:
"Get Noby Noby boy, it's amazing! You can eat your own arse!"

Waaay ahead of you, pal. While playing last night, brows furrowed, I somehow tore the hind end off of Boy, but could still control it. I thought to myself, Why not? and I ate my own arse. The game emitted a celebratory fanfare (TA-DAAA!), and suddenly I had a butt again. My only disappointment is that there is no Eat Your Own Arse trophy.

Looks like a great game indeed! I just hope Namco doesn't decide to cheat the gamers with DLC that should be in the game, like they did with Beautiful Katamari.

What the hell is this game about? I've seen videos and read explanations, but I have no idea how you play it... It kinda reminds me of Katamari, but I understand that game. I don't get this one.
Little help?

My take after a single night of play is that Noby Noby is a much more open-ended version of Katamari. Instead of rolling up stuff, you eat stuff and use it to stretch yourself longer and longer. Also unlike Katamari, the whole community adds up its collective length, which will eventually unlock new worlds and maps.
Mostly, the game is a cute physics playground that you can easily upload to Youtube.

The game is actually about nothing... There's no real objective or goals as such.
You control each end of the creature (called BOY) independently with the analogue sticks. You can stretch, and shrink, and jump, and kinda grab on to things and the ground, and eat things.
It's about experimentation and relaxing (according ot the tutorial/manual).
There is a kinda meta-goal which is that the length you stretch is added to another creature (called GIRL) who lives in space. If you are connected to PSN then the length all the players have managed to stretch their BOY's (that sounds a bit wrong, lol), is added to GIRL, and when she reaches certian lengths new content/levels open up.
I'm sure that explanation is as clear as mud! But the game entertained be for an hour or so last night, and was cheap enough to feel like good value. I'll definitely be messing around with it more.
