I know there are Warhawk fans of the original on the PSX game who've waited a very long time for a sequel. Now they're just getting a multiplayer melee version. It may still be fun, but it's not a complete game. Incognito has let their fans down and they now have a lot of make up for.

Incognito, they sensed that the Single baller was gonna suck and they don't force the consumer to shell out $60 for a half-assed, half-broken game. DAMN Incognito might just be for the PS3 what Bungie is for the 360. and thats a good thing.

Despite all the overhyping, overpromising, and all the execs holding bibles in one hand and swearing that Warhawk would be a launch title that would prove the decicision to include motion-control, leading the way into the true next-gen, changing it to a download-only game is a great move and smart business strategy!

I think that I'm just an old fashioned guy, but I really don't see why distributing a console game online only is a good thing. Doesn't that really just alienate those people who don't have online capabilities for their PS3, or people who want to bring their game to a friend's house to play? Or is it even one of those kinds of games? Is there any single player version at all?

Not only that, but what happens when you want this game, but there's not enough space left on your hard drive? Now you have to delete files just to get this new one in... which, in all honesty, is probably going to take a good amount of time to download, if not the same amount of time that it would take to get into your car and drive to the game store, buy your game and then return home. AND you'd be able to transport your new game easily.

I dunno, this just doesn't sit right with me. Again, old fashioned, I guess. I like my gaming to be between just me and my game.

But just see it through this way, there trying to bring games, movies, shows into your own home. So you can buy them there. You dont have to go out and pick it up. And even if it did come out to stores, it'll have to be $60. Since its the PSN, mybe Warhawk will not be that much..

So this game should be 50 gigs big right. Because Sony said 50 gigs were need for games. So if I copy 4 gigs for 10 games to slow loading times, and I DL a 50 gig game from PSN, what will I have left. To HDD is great to have but it should be used to store gaming data not full games. A few PS1 games would be cool, and also arcade games but not a PS3 game. I hope Sony does not go this route with too many games. I like holding games in my hand. It allows me to take it to a friends house, trade in, and even trade with someone. Maybe I'm old fashion.

I don't know if I'm right or not... I just know what works for me. As you mentioned, you don't even have to leave your home to buy this game. But seeing as how you are going to be downloading a rather large game, you can probably get to a game store, buy a game and return home in the same amount of time it would take for the game to download to your PS3. Are we really THAT pressed for time?

Warhawk only downladable? WTF?

This means to me, no manual, no box, no cover and no disc! WTF? This means that it can't be a part of my (coming) glorious PS3 games row? It's now only bits and bytes? Something hidden somewhere inside my HDD I can't even see?

And besides that, it will take me HOURS of HOURS of even MORE HOURS if not DAYS to download it! The only internet option for my PS3 is wireless, and we have 512 kbps internet. It's almost impossible for me to get it. Especially when PS3 can't resume downloads.

Well, I'm very much against all this download to your drive thing. I don't buy games and TV etc. in supermarkets. I buy them where they only should be bought, special electronics stores. I don't buy a new wristwatch in a supermarket, I buy it in a special store selling wristwatches and clocks. I don't buy download games, it may be easier but yet not. What if you got a download error? What if your HDD went down? You lost your acceskey for a re-download? Payment over creditcard, if I don't have one? No space left on HDD? The waiting while downloading? I buy thing in the right stores. I don't want one single bigass store in my whole town, and then get that stupid "support". I support the local.

Tell me, why just don't take your bike and take a walk down your local store, buy a nice game in a box? You get it fast, you don't have to install it, you can put it on the shelf among the other games, take it with you to your friends house and have some fun?

Now when Warhawk only is available through download, I'm not buying it, in protest.

The fact this game is striclty download, isn't as brilliant as most of these people make out. The sales are going to be much lower than a game distributed on hard format. and just because Sony release one game by online distribution, doesn't mean the PSN is going to beat XBox Live. Persoanlly, I prefer the old fashion method, and I'm certainly glad Microsoft aren't pushing many games to be distributed online.

On the other hand, seeing as this is a "online only" game, I think it's good idea to distribute this way. Just remember, should you ever get tired of the game, or should it turn out to be crap, you won't be able to trade it in.

Let me get this straight, one of the biggest AAA titles that was coming for the ps3, one that Sony themselves used to showcase the power of the ps3, has just been busted down to a gimped out arcade download and you guys are HAPPY about this?

Man, I know Sony has been knocked around lately(self inflicted usually) but I didn't realize how bad it actually was...

Myself, I'm calling like it is, disappointing. PS3 needs more compelling software and it just lost one of it's showcases. It's a sad day.

Griping over nothing, this game has no single player and nothing to take up all this space. Its a multiplayer game only. About the only thing you're downloading are maps and planes and most of the information will be held on the servers.

Don't be ignorant and assume this is going to take all day, if it does take a significantly long time then they would release a hard copy.

They are saving a lot of money on this there is absoulutely no production, no cases, no disks, no paper manuals. Something I always believed game companies should do, order the game directly from the manufacturer. If you want a hard copy place an order and one will be made specifically for you, it would definately reduce the costs and prices significantly. It may even cost you half the price of the regular retail. But games stores and things wouldn't not allow this but some products may be able to slip through the cracks. But I digress.

All in All its a good idea, if the game is not big enough to warrant a disk then digital download makes sense. Sony saves and so you should save as well. Make sense?

First off, the multiplayer does look amazing. I don't mind downloading it either. I am still disapointed in the decision to scrap single player. He says in the interview you owe it to the gamer to provide a solid experience which is true. But scrapping the single player mode seems more like running away from a challenge and not taking the time to develop something worth while. But multiplayer does look fantastic and it should be cheap considering all the money they'll be saving.

with this news. i'm the type of person that enjoys a good single player better than a good multiplayer. i'll probably get this if it doesn't cost much. but with all the other good games that are coming out, i might not. too bad, cause i was really looking foward to this one.

and as far as saving money becaue its cheaper online, i couldn't care less. i want a good game, if i was worried about saving money....i wouldn't have a ps3....joking of course

Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection was a download only as well, it was suppose to weigh-in at 800 MB and was only 555 MB. Remember that all the files that are downloaded from PSN are zipped, and the "install" is just uncompressing them. Am I the only one who knows this? As for Warhawk, I say give it time, its quite possible that this is just a part of a bigger picture, Incognito may be working on it still and this is just a downloadable taste of the game. Wait to hear the entire story.

i don't know if i want to download the game and only play it online.maybe with close friends.but i don't need online for this game.but it would be cool for the motion controller.

i'm going to wait and see what phil has to say at GDC before deciding.

as for downloading,ps3 doesn't have limits for downloads which is cool.tekken 5 wouldn't have been possible.and downloads don't take long.read a book,watch tv,get some work done or something if waiting is an issue.

No one should buy this game. I love my PS3 and love Sony products but I feel Sony is trying to push this online game purchasing on us for one reason. Money! Ok so maybe I am paranoid but Sony has fussed about game trading and homw they dont make money on the trade-in games. Now they have this big popular game that everyone is waiting on and wants and they just happen to be making it downloadable only. Where you cant tade it in and that way they dont lose money. I for one wont buy it and no one else should buy it to hopefully tell sony. "Dont Push it on us, We dont want online distribution for games, I want to hold the disc and carry it to a friends house or trade it when I'm through with it" Sell it online and at the store is fine, I wont pay for a game I cant physically own.

I'm not too worried about the download. They would have thought of this and kept it to a resonable size. And I'm pretty sure this new direction will make multiplayer something pretty special, maybe even better than Battlefield.

Even though I believe that I'm pissed off that single player has been scrapped. I was a big fan of part 1 on PSOne and was looking forward to this. I dont like this trend of every game having to have a multiplayer or even online component at the expense of single player. I actually prefer a good simgle player campain to see how the devs have challenged me. I was really happy to learn that there is no multiplayer for Bioshock. I think the game will be much better for it.

Dammit Warhawk was so cool. I'm sure in still will be but I'm still disappointed. M$ hurry up with a Crimson Skies.
