Uncharted 2 Is Smarter than You

Game director Bruce Straley has given CVG some insight into how Uncharted 2's AI will make for a much more challenging experience.

The game's new stealth element has inspired Naughty Dog to create some very lifelike enemies. "As a result of expanding our gameplay to account for action-stealth, there are two new behaviours added to enemies, 'investigate' and 'hunt,'" Straley told them.

Talking about FC2 ? Yep, I agree. These guys sneak up on you. You can cheat them, though. Shoot at one, duck down, flank them come back and the guy is on your old location searching for you. Bang, dead :)

As long as its like that, that is pretty awesome. Not like Battlefield, where that damn sniper can see you from miles away even if you are hiding in the bushes. As soon as he sees you, there's no hiding any more.

Hope they really get that right in UC2. Man, if they can drop down from a wall behind you, that gives me the chill.

I've lost count of the number of times devs have said their AI is "The Best Ever" but only to be disappointed by standard crap AI.

Maybe Naughty Dog will pull it off, but I'll have to play it to believe it.

I'm hoping that Uncharted 2 trades enemy health for intelligence. In Uncharted 1, enemies had WAY too much health. I'd rather have a small number of enemies that are very intelligent than a lot of dumb, but powerful enemies.

then I give you that - they were very challenging because they sneak towards you much closer and much faster.

But if you struggled with "normal", then pfft, try sticking with the pistol.

Well, it can be tiresome, I agree. If you need to constanlty watch out if there's someone sneaking up on you from behind, this can be a real challenge. I'd say fine in hard mode, maybe a bit over the top on "casual". But as long as these guys can't respawn forever, it will a lot to the gameplay.

that there arent as many waves a spirates in the first one..remember when the plane crashed and as soon as you crossed the log pirates came out of no where..or when you were with sully in the church (and outside) man i just hope it gets leveled out..either way a must buy for any ps3 owner

11 - Hope the music will be just as good.

I loved the increasing tension the music always portrayed whenever you was in a middle of a combat.

And I hope all this AI doesn't make it too complicated. The 1st one was an easy to pickup kinda game that helped maintain the fun factor for me. It felt like REAL game yet an awesome experience at the same time.

U:DF was excellent. Story, not to say the least, was golden.

I was unimpressed by the screenshots of the first one, but the demo did me actually buy it, even if it [the demo] was a bit dry. From now on I am a diehard Uncharted fan.

A virtual treasure hunt? That'll be something new for MP, but they would need to vary the hints and environment frequently though.
Maybe they can make a LBP style of toolkit for user-created treasure hunts.

Multiplayer? Nah, I don't think Uncharted 2 really needs it.

If there is Multi-player, I guess Naughty Dog can put in Co-op like in RE5, but that's about it.

I would rather have Naughty Dog focus on making the best Single Player experience possible.

the only reason Halo has doen sales is because its the ONLY exclusive thast soemwhat descent for xbox. ther eis nothign else to buy on the xbox so all the xbox owners have all this money to spend on games. PS3 has to many good exclusive games so we neeed to pick and choose which to spend our money on at one time. Halo is one of the worst no talent FPS gmaes i have ever played. the first one has the worst freaking level design i ever played. "go this way through the map, now go through it again backwards" gimme a freaking break. Halo 2 was even worse. the story was horrible. you could care less about master chief and that stupid horrible designed, predator faced wanna be alien you place. I didnt even waste my money on 3 , i wont buy it till its on the $9.99 rack. HALO IS SOOOOO OVER RATED!! stop it already with freaking halo.
