Quantum Theory uses tech from Ninja Gaiden Sigma

Tecmo's upcoming PS3-exclusive shooter, Quantum Theory, isn't made by the notorious Team Ninja studio. However, why should developers Team Tachyon relearn a system that their peers have already mastered? The technology is owned by Tecmo, so why not share resources?

i dunno, this doesn't strike me as a very good looking title, especially not sigma levels. maybe they've only shown us older builds.

1.1 - not to be a party pooper
but after haze and too human, i really dont want to hype up a game that has seen no gameplay and is not from an "amazing" developing studio. I always find myself rooting for 'small' games like this only to see them become hyped up and fall short of expectations.

Well Too Human and Haze were not terrible games in the eyes of many people (See G4's Adam Sessler who added it to the holiday gift guide on X-Play). But this is not a western developer which means I will give them the benefit of the doubt until the game is released or we see more on the game.

well, we have seen zero.. zilch..

so no way we can start judging now..

but didn't NG Sigma do 1080p 60fps... that is not a bad merit to have... also, if they pull this off well... and don't do just Gears copy.. i think it has potential...

will gladly have this under my radar.

It is built on the sigma engine (or whatever they call it) i think I will at least keep an eye on it . Besides I like new IP's that's my favorite part about the PS brand

I think this game is way way off, so i wouldn't even worry about it now.

As always, textures,even shaders are used as place holders till other things are sorted and then things are replaced.

Remember Motorstorm PR, looked so much better after a couple of months, same thing with killzone 2, got better and better everytime i saw it.

Same thing will happen with god of war 3, etc.

Good things take time.

Now gimme that uncharted 2 now dammit, I want it.

I'm a little iffy right now about this game, but I think it has potential if pulled off right. But, one thing that I do like about the game from what I've seen is the Art direction and I really love it.

With more and more Japanese developers trying to go "Western", I really hope that they can create interest in Westernized games in Japan, because then Shooters like Killzone 2 or Gears would start getting the attention they deserve in the Far East.

Their is no gameplay shown at all. Now since it is using a good engine, it will probably look nice but the gameplay is what everyone is skeptical about.

But maybe you are right, if it was a 360 exclusive, it would be getting bashed... a lot.

Temco is a good publisher. I am sure this game would be at least good since they should be improving from Sigma which was pretty dam good.

What really interest me is the fact that its a shooter from JP and a PS3 exclusive which means they will be focusing solely on the PS3 for this game.

These are old screens anyway.

like it has some potential....BUT, it's probably nothing for PS3 owners to jump for joy about...

That said, if this game could, say, deliver 3rd party PS3 exclusive (or, in the case of my coming example, timed) support like Lost Planet did for the 360, that would be awesome! We'll see...
