No, TIm Burton's 9 Is Not Riffing On Sackboy

Kotaku:Several readers have sent in tips pointing to the trailer for Tim Burton's latest animated feature, 9, suggesting the film's characters are homages to Media Molecule's Sackboy of LittleBigPlanet fame. Not the case!

While the characters do bear a certain similarity, what with the sackcloth construction and zippers at their necks, Tim Burton's 9 is actually based off the short film of the same title, created by Shane Acker and released in April of 2005.

9 is by one of the worst directors out there: Timur Bekmambetov. The 9 has nothing to do with LBP and since it's completely CG means it's probably been in production as long as LBP.

Seriously though, avoid his god-awful films

Are you kidding me? The only thing sackboy and 9 have in common is that they both are made out of cloth and have a zipper. That's it! Seriously, whoever though that 9 is a ripoff of sackboy or vice versa is stupid as all hell.

Do you people know how much time this movie took to made?, when we heard about LBP for the first time, this movie probably was in production already.

Doesnt matter anyway since "sackboy-like" character has been used in media media before , and more recently in a serie of car commercials with background from Sean paul tunes (forgot the brand )

And those came at least a year before LBP started making splashes . One could argue in the same silly way they copied the commercials given how close they looks

Who approved this story? Tim Burton has absolutely nothing to do with this film. Get your facts straight.

Correction: Yes, Tim Burton is a producer. Calling it Tim Burton's film is still incorrect. That's like calling Hero a Quentin Tarantino film or Transformers a Steven Speilberg film.

God forbid a PS3 game be remotely associated to a cool looking movie.
We wouldn't want people to preemptively start attacking the movie because they think its related to the PS3 in some way.
