'Black' sequel not in development

Reports of a sequel to Criterion's point-and-click shooter Black have been falsified, according to VG247.

Earlier this year, both Eurogamer Portugal and Xbox 360 Play Diaries reported that a listing for Black: Second Mission briefly appeared on Criterion's website before being removed.

The sources listed a 2009 release date for the sequel, but now VG247 has reported that the rumours are false.

well atleast we know that Black will get a sequel since the ending of the 1st game literally sets up the game for a sequel....

but Criterion will be making the next NFS game so this could be the reason why we haven't heard ne thing about Black 2...yet

Black was a worthy FPS effort by Criterion and they are bound to improve leaps and bounds with a sequel on the next-gens... and make alot $$ if they copy if not better CoD4. And to apply a sequel to a large open world with planes/vehicles like in Burnout would be awesome.

Although Burnout is their main money maker, Black 2 or a new IP would go over well with us gamers with likely very good sales.

In both cases, their source are not really reliable. It's a Draw. Black 2 may or may not exist until an official announcement.

EA really needs to do a Black sequel. BLACK was one of the first FPS games that made me love the genre because I wasn't a big fan of shooters before I played Black.

You can always count on Criterion to make some kicka$$ games though, whether it's BLACK or Burnout, they are awesome developers.... all this talk about BLACK 2 is making me want to go play through BLACK again, LOL.

Why the f**k not are they making one.......criterion stop with the burnout paradise dlc and start developing black 2, as you can see criterion we all want black 2, they better make one or else im going to there boss and raping the sh!t into him, till he says "yes i will get my team to make black 2 but stop with the raping first!!" lol

I would have liked to have seen a sequel to see what they could do different in the fps genre. Lots of explosions presumably?

I think they should give it another go.

Black was comepletely awesome and I nearly cried when I realised there was no multiplayer...what a waste!. Lets hope they add multiplayer this time if indeed it is in developement.

14 - second coming of GoldenEye
Yeah, I went there. The original Black was an outstanding game. I truly hope that Criterion has this one on their plate. Now with the Live and pumped up graphics, this franchise has the possibility to be a must have.
