MS spent 50 million on $20 worth of DLC.
Sony just had MM play around with their toys and get $6 worth of DLC that might be just as popular.
Now that is good business.

So you think Konami is just going to let Sony/MM use their trademark characters just like that without any fee? You are kidding yourself for thinking that. Sony or MM have to pay some kind of royalty fee to Konami just to use the characters or they will be hit with a lawsuit.

your initial argument (the part that is relevent to this story) is completely unjustified without any evidence of logic.... are you sure your not a fanboy?
Of course you go on to make some fair points, but most people will just read the stupid bit of your post.

This whole price markup is ridiculous. For Americans it costs 5.99 DOLLARS and for Europeans it costs 5.99 EUROS. While at the moment $5.99 = €4.30. That's what i call ripping people off

Yep, 5.99€ = 8.35$, it's quite expensive. But as i love MGS4, i'll got it, even if i'm frustrated of that over-pricing politic.

That's not how it works. If you do the PPP, European workers actually earn more per hour. I can't really explain it since I don't have my textbook on me to look it up. But the point is, Europe has a whole different economic systems than US and the purchasing power is different.

England are getting these cheaper than Other European countries €6 =
£5.57240 whereas the actual price is £4.79. Almost a pound cheaper when you look at how cheap this pack is, it's a good bit.

Look you can't just convert dollars to pounds/euros and then say it's unfair. I mean, look at how different the conversion rates are now to what they were a couple of months ago! But the price of other stuff hasn't changed. They charge what they charge and you pay for it or not.
It's kind of unfortunate because they effectively have a monopoly on DLC prices so they are kept reasonably high. I do believe that they charge far too much for LBP costumes especially. I mean they charged HOW much for a MM T-shirt? I could pick up an ACTUAL T-shirt for less than what they charged for an in-game one.
If they always reflected the conversion rates then right about now you'd have a load of British people complaining because the pound just dropped in value. Also bear in mind that our price includes VAT (now 15% - actually where's our price drop for the drop in VAT?) so it's not that unfair really. LBP stuff always seems overpriced though.

Just when they had finally got all the goods priced properly for a Canadian dollar at par with the American dollar, now it's falling again and all the prices are in flux again. I will have to pay $69.99 for Killzone. But I can't complain because I got my PS3 for $650 to the $600 whereas, I payed $549 to $299 for my PS2. It's a good thing the PS3 was delayed because I would have had to pay $1000 a year earlier.

the price for most of the characters are overprice. I was expecting the characters that is being made by MM to be around $.99 each and they one base on other games such as MGS would be at $1.99 because they have to pay a few to companies to use those characters.

It probably takes longer to make things in 12 languages and three currencies. Canadian's have it the worst, they don't even make the conversion from color to colour or flavor to flavour and what's up with labor, that doesn't even look right, labour looks much better.

8 - It looks great....
... but I would have preferred a package all in one, for 5-6 euro. SO costumes AND levels for 5-6 euro. Paying over 10 euro for this seems a bit steep, when they might do it again and again and again in the future.
I just ordered a complete, NEW (sealed) game for 14 euro including postage (Midnight Club LA), so it's kinda hard to shell out over 10 euro for something like this, no matter how extremely cool it looks and how badly I wanna play it.
If the whole thing would just total up to 5-6 euro, it would be OK. Now, I think I'll pass and wait and hope for them to release a LBP-Deluxe edition somewhere in the future, which might have all the DLC included.
Such a shame, cause it looks really REALLY cool :( And I still play LBP a few times a week.
edit: And I do agree about the ridiculous overpricing of us Europeans for everything. It's a real shame. SCEE has been absolutely horrible for gamers, overpricing us for everything, plus at the same time keeping a lot from us (special editions, certain games, online content, etc)
Sony really needs to fix their European devision. It angers me, and it just makes me boycot Sony's products, like TVs and stuff, in favour of some other brands (Samsung and Panasonic)

11 - costly, but i think it will be worth it.
i mean, SOMEBODY over at Media Molecule had to create this content.
that somebody deserves to be paid for their hard work.
and Sony is licensing the MGS characters/story themes for use in Little Big Planet. i'm sure that cost them a pretty penny.
i guess i view it this way, roughly $10 is the cost of a PSN game these days. i see this MGS Level Pack in the same way i see a PSN title, only i get to actually use the content offered to me for $10 in my OWN levels.
fair enough, i guess.
LBP is a great game. as is MGS4. i think they are hands down the two best games i've played all year, and now they've combined together.
in the end, it's a win/win for me, Sony, and Konami, actually.
