I just don't know. Witholding judgement, it's just too early. I think expectations may be too high. I mean, it should make Heavenly Sword look and feel a generation old, and so far, I'm not getting that feeling from the little bit I've seen. I do think it really needs to set the bar and I'm just not getting that feeling, not yet anyway. HS' production values were among the highest ever, and it was a good game, not great. I don't think the character dev or acting will be matched. I want a great GOW III, but ... man, I'm losing confidence in Sony's ability to hit home runs. Triples are cool but, knock one out of the park already.

We've seen about 7 seconds of in game footage. Yes, they are completely finished with the game. It's being released on January 15. I thought everybody knew that.

If I remember correctly, we are supposed to be ogling over the graphics of GOW 3, according to fans and insiders.

I love the GOW series, i am certain this game will be nothing short of greatness. But the graphics does not have the WOW factor to me. They look good but that is about it. Hang me out to dry on my comments, wont change the fact of my opinion.

From all the hype around this game, I was expecting it to look as good or better than Killzone 2, which is why I was a little disappointed at first. But now I see the game does look good, and with over a year of development to go I'm 100% sure the game will look much better upon release.

The rock walls look like clay, kratos looks like a 90 watt light bulb and there is just an overall lack of personality to the trailer. I've been reading and watching David Jaffe's site and he basically said that what he initially saw was about 2-3 days old when he viewed it, and was only shown to internal Sony partners. The stuff at the VGA's was much older due to the fact that Sony/Spike tv/your next door neighbor had to approve the teaser for air time. The VGA showing was a waste of peoples time and should not sway or deter peoples excitement for the game.

Glad to see someone else noticed it to; I was saying this in the last 3 threads. They clearly haven't added any texturing yet at this point in the code. It is the reason why some are underwhelmed by it. This is likely just a treat to advertise the game early on a million viewer show with potential buyers to let them know this game is in the works and they should buy a PS3. Those people will likely not come on N4G and examine it with a microscope.

I have been playing the last 3 GOW games lately. It's the only series besides Marvel vs Capcom 2 and maybe 1 or 2 others9i still love donkey kong country and earthworm jim) that don't lose that feeling of Awesome when going back to last gen or prior.

This game will be epic.

I don't know what Jaffe saw, don't really care. We know there will be GOW III. All I'm saying is I'm losing a little confidence in Sony, the business. I mean, why show mediocre media for GOW III? Show whatever Jaffe saw and let everyone salivate. It makes no sense.

If the game just isn't ready to show, don't show it. We know it's coming. But don't disappoint at this stage in the game. I really like the PS3 and want to see games continue to come to it, at this point, I prefer the PS3 becasue of the Bluray and XMB. NXE is for kids man. I have all the games I want really, except for Dead Rising on the PS3 and well, Gears. I still have to question some of Sony's decisions though...

It's just personal preference as well. I'd rather not see a half-azz half second demo. Just keep it under wraps until you have something worth showing. I'm sure they have their reasons, but now, "meh" is being associated with GOW III. That's just a boneheaded move in my humble opinion.

OK, I'm still a little peeved Sony just let Heavenly Sword die a miserable death. They did make up for it with WipEout HD though.

Haters? Or maybe the Killzone 2 effect of people thinking the first trailer was in-game...I don't know either but I can't wait, GoW2 honestly looked like a PS3 game to me when it first came out so any upgrade of that will be epic.

The textures look a little smeary and the scenery does not do the pictures justice. There's also something wrong with the blood effects. Kratos looks good, though.

They are taken straight from Sony's 1080p video - go download it yourself in the PlayStation Store. If Sony upscaled a 720p video and put it in the Store as 1080p, then OK.
