i knew this was an old build already...
the new build is the thing Jaffe was blabering about.

and i know these guys will make this game standout from the rest, since it's Santa Monica... dudes that made the final best looking PS2 game...

just hope they release it before 2010...

To ppl who are Dissapointed with the visual :
This is just what happenned to MS2 back in Sony's gamers day in may,at that show the game looked like garbage,worst than MS1,but 2 months later at E3 the new footage where there and ,man they were amazing,I don't know why Sony didn't show the damn current build that jaffe saw,this trailer screams that it is from an early build ,very early build that it feels kinda raw,but even in this current stage it looks 'good' and it makes me jizz in my pants,I have zero doubt in Santa monica studio's capability,they will pull out the most impressive video game ever...

Ok guys I am about to pick this thing apart. Just downloaded it off of the PSN paused it and watched it frame by frame using my BD remote. So you know I have a 40" LCD Sony XBR 5 and my PS3 is running through HDMI. Lets Go.

The first scene, the wall run one, the animations of both Kratos and the foe are very smooth and life like, if you look behind the action you can see about 42 other enemies on screen witch also shows that the draw distance detail is unbelievable. If you look at the facial expressions of Kratos during his attack they change as he goes through the motions and it looks damn good.

The second scene, with the Cyclopse, again the draw distance is very impressive, as are the animations. If you look in the back ground the lighting effects are awesome when the lightning reflects off of the trees.

The forth scene is just awesome, Kratos is on the Cyclopes with his blades in its eye, then jumps straight from the Cyclopes and wraps his hands around the Harpies throat. Nice. The bark on the tree also looks very nice.

In the last scene with the Harpie after Kratos cut off its wing there is a seporate animation in witch he draws the other blade from his back, very fluent and again with the detailed facial animations.

I can't wait to see a later build.

As often as people say "I don't buy into hype," that is exactly what happened. They believe not only that this is the most current build, but that it will LITERALLY look like a painting come to life.

90% of the bashers will probably eat their words come, oh I don't know, something like 365 whole days from now? Huh, that seems like a lot of time to update graphics and what not. Eh, I'm sure they'll just piss away that time making GoW themed levels in LBP. That's what I would do.

are you saying that because of a hunch?...or because Jaffe said exactly that in an interview thats about 5 spaces up on this site?...haha...

either way...you are right...I wasn't blown away by it, but also wasn't disappointed...many were saying 'if you think killzone 2 looks good, wait till you see this'...thats a hell of a statement...and as I expected, it had NOTHING on killzone 2...

but as it goes for early builds...and it doesn't even matter what jaffe saw, as everything right now is at least a year from release more or less...just compare the screen grabs of e3 2007 with the new preview build of killzone 2...they are arguably different games, which is crazy because even in 2007 killzone 2 was one of the better looking games on the horizon...

what I disliked was the editing...where both teasers for Uncharted 2 were actually slow enough for you to get an idea of how ridiculous it looked...GoW 3 was editted too fast...each clip was like 2 seconds tops, with tons of movement and stuff going on...thats all great for the final game, but makes it difficult to see the smaller details...

and I just listened to 12/12/08's 1up yours podcast...do it...as shane goes on about his recent preview of Heavy Rain that is still under embargo (and he wouldn't say when it will be lifted)...but that it topped everything...to date...period...and also confirmed that all those ridiculous environments we have seen are all interactive...not just early Resident Evil like backdrops that you couldn't touch or do anything with...

and the most interesting part of the entire thing is what Sony is allowing entirely...most big games, Killzone 2 and GoW 3 being exceptions, are having the rendering engines out sourced to Asia, with the game making developers focusing on the really time consuming parts like art, mo-cap, lighting, and the acting/directing side of it...where as the texture streaming renderers and everything associated with that is outsourced to an entirely seperate studio...we'll see...but according to shane, its nothing short of out of control...
