12 HD Killzone 2 Single Player mode videos

You can tell:
1. There's some voice chatting going on

What happened to the intensity of the convoy landing scene first shown in the E3 07 reveal trailer?!

It's like a complete downgrade! I'm seriously shocked at how inferior it looks. The character's faces look like mannequins and have no animation whatsoever. Especially that guy with the bandana, his face was so real back in 07. Jesus, what the heck happened? :(

My friend is in the beta and I thought that looked amazing, but this...this is even better. Guerrilla are one of the most talented developers out there. I loved Killzone Liberation on the PSP and I just knew that they would come through for Killzone 2. Bravo!

in a few ways the updated version is a downgrade. while obviously more realistic, it's take a stylistic hit. the faces are more like rubber, when they used to be clay, and it's just not as believable when they're talking. they look more like models than characters. he's right when comparing to the e3 07 "first look" trailer, that looked like pre-rendered movie, but the updated version looks more like game graphics. i bet they changed rico's voice cuz it didn't go as well with the new "style". anyways there's still time before it releases so we'll see how things go.

I saw this story yesterday around 7 or 8 and stopped playing games to watch all this videos and download them. I was up till around 12:30 am watching these videos over and over in amazement. It is unbelievable what GG pulled of. I was impressed with everything, on this one part the guy shot at a puddle of water and you could see the rocks come above the water them sink slowly back into the water. I lost it. Real shadows, ect. On top of the that the gameplay looks better than any other shooter I have seen, the guns react more realistic. Day one purchase for me.

no thats not an old preview build...I haven't seen it, but GG and the previewers were talking about it in the beta forum...

whats being shown on Dec 4th is the game fully running with the streamed uncompressed textures...no unpacking off the disc...its one reason Killzone 2 take up a MOUNTAIN of disc space...and does not require any HDD installation at all...no texture pop (as they do not need to be unpacked), and it frees up additional memory and processing...

this also has some procedural textures being rendered also, at least according to the previews...which is the "4D" BS Sony kept talking about in 2006...where environments can change over real-time on the fly...the blood stains and some 'other' stuff uses this tech, which is pretty new...

but again...I missed the videos...this was all in a thread in the beta forum when someone leaked 'wait till Dec 4th'...but this is definitely the newest build, and very closely reflects what the final version will look like...no other preview had the uncompressed texture streaming, however...so when we get some stills, you'll be able to see how immensely better textures look...

enough with the ps3 bashing here is there anything out there thats going to be able to compete with this in February, yes im talkin to the 360 fanboys, gears looks great but man this is practically cgi look at the lighting the ai is great if this game gets bad scores man i would really be surprised, this then uncharted ps3 is lookin really good from here on out.

10.1 - Gears dosen't look that much better than

other games in the market at the moment.

KZ2 on the other hand is something else all together.

The main reason why KZ2 is better graphics wise is that KZ2 has realistic cinamatic graphics. Gears you see shiny suits and glossy columns which looks great but unrealistic. I guess the art direction plays a major role why KZ2 graphics are better imo. People werent joking when they said KZ2 was going after Crysis graphics which i thought was virtually impossible this early in the PS3 lifecycle.

I watched alot of Cinamatics in the PS2 era. Now with KZ2 i will finally be able to play games which such graphics.

I would imagine it getting even better when GOW3 and GT5 comes out.

Unreal Engine is a Multi plat engine anyways. KZ2,GOW3, Uncharted 2, and GT5 are all first party engines. On top of this Digi Guys Wardevil as well as Heavy Rain are also engines built specifically for the PS3. Its already a great time to be a PS3 owner but the future is even much better.

this is what most x360 fans still don't get. Sony has been competing with Nin and MS with mostly new IP's against their established franchise with a 200 price difference for the last two years. MGS4 was the first Salvo. 2009 onwards the calvary will arrive and as Kartos said, there will only be chaos lol.

This has always been Sony's main advantage anyways. They have the talent to really push the boundaries of games on the PS3. All these devs share experience and push each other to do better. Sony invest alot in their talent and its going to pay off handsomely for them in the end.

To be blunt honest. I am looking forward to PS3 exclsuives much more than Multi-plat this gen.

YO u can realy see the improvements, but it'll look better then this when it comes out, and i realized the 'bullet to body' rag-HUMAN not DOLL physics have come back, this beats eveything thats going to come out on the 'MatchBOX 360 Degree burn', even everything that MS is even dreaming about, even every 'MatchBOX 360 Degree burn' game thats not even in development yet lol....YEAH! sure GeOW2 looked....BUT HOW GOOD....this good....
