PS3 Version of Resident Evil 5 Gets Exclusive Footage

From Three Speech: Capcom revealed last week that the Collector's Edition of Resident Evil 5 will include loads of goodies, including a 32-page colour art book and (most excitingly) a 2 GB USB drive and waist pouch, designed to look like in-game items. We'll be wearing our waist pouch permanently - don't try and stop us.

PS3 owners can also look forward to some special 'making-of' video content. Capcom is really excited about this, describing it as the first Blu-ray game hybrid.

Pretty sure the LE is for both the 360/PS3 and contains the same extras. Only difference is the extra footage found on the PS3 Blu-Ray game disc.

32 page booklet, USB key, carry pouch etc all the same regardless of platform. Pretty sure the LE is only going to be available from Capcom though.

I remember a while back when someone from Sony said that they were talking to game developers about utilizing the extra BluRay space by adding additional content, such as behind-the-scenes and the-making-of videos. This must be it; hopefully more developers will follow.

so they spend time purposefully making sure the games run the same, but then throw in different content?

Devs this gen are pi**ing me off. Make the games the same on both platforms and release it. stop feeding the stupid fanboy wars. this gen would be a lot better imo if timed exclusives were illegal and all multiplats had the same content and dlc.

Why you complaining ? its good its the whole point Sony invested in Bluray so you cant get content like you can on the PS3 on any other system though im sure it will be downloadable on XBL so stop complaining ffs. personally its a great idea capcom are starting to become one of my favourite developers I like their attitude for developing games making them multi format we all know the age of 3rd party exclusives is near over. Thats why Nintendo MS and Sony should join and make one console :D but as long as Nintendo are about i don't see it happening

6 - As far as I am aware, this is not the "first" blu-ray game hybrid

The limited PS3 version of Stranglehold came with a copy of the John Woo movie "Hard Boiled" on the same blu-ray game disc. Just thought I'd throw that out there for people in case they were interested.

7 - I would've preferred "more game content" w/ BR

But you know...whatever floats their boat, that's just lost potential sales. If I was Capcom: I'd show PS3 some love by slapping in RE4 in the PS3 Version or anything that can mandate the 25GB of space. Add extra games, hell throw in RE:Degeneration and I would instantly pick one up. Can you imagine? A game and a HD-Movie.

I hope SCE will back Resident Evil 5, I look forward to this game the most. Resident Evil 4 was excellent, I hope they dont spoil the 5th.
Cant wait..

The other thing im concerned about is that it probably wont sell well, like the Halo 3 and then people are going to say that is was a flop, just because it didnt sell well, which results in a situation that this wont be even nominated for GOTY.. Thats how said it is.

As well as the extra content Will i also get the usual jaggie mess of a game as in most multi-formats on the ps3 ? Played PES 2009 yesterday, my player was taking a corner and i thought the corner flag had a ladder attached it was sooooo jaggie.I just cant see why everything on the ps3 is jaggie, no aa or a lack of it, even walking round home, looking at posters etc everything lacked aa. The games exclusive to the machine are fine, so cant they tell the others how to do it ? it's a couple of years old now so they should have learnt.

I shall and will own this. I just hope Sony gets DLC if Xbox does. Im getting my version of RE for my PS3 over my 360, cause I have almost the complete series all on PS and on PS is where I will continue to buy this series!

Yeah, I´m not that excited. If they would have used the extra space on bluray to fill with more game content and provided a better gaming experience then I would have been excited!
But to use the extra space to make people pay more for some documentary is no good.

I do remember the anniversary edition on the PS2, it did come with the animated movie on the same disc. i guess it wasn't the first time they did it. it should it came with more SF games though, like the alpha series.
