FW 2.53 Coming 11/26/08

UPDATE: This has now been confirmed so RUMOR has been removed from the headline.

We just got a tip that PS3 FW 2.53 is coming on or before November 26, 2008.

Our tipster told us it's a very minor update, below is the changelog:

Network

* New for 2.53: The Internet browser now supports full-screen mode for Adobe® Flash® Player content.*
* Support for Adobe® Flash® Player 9 has been added to [Internet Browser].*
* "Adobe" and "Flash" are either registered trademarks or trademarks of Adobe Systems Incorporated in the United States and/or other countries.

We encourage you to check this page from time to time for software updates and to always maintain your system to use the latest version of the system software.

An update to the PS3 system software was released on November 26, 2008. You can use this update to upgrade your system software to version 2.53.

1.5 - Can I get a custom avatar?

or a profile that loads faster? Flash is cool but I really use my PC to use any site that utilizes Flash. I'd really like the next firmware to focus on making what's available in terms of profiles, avatars, and the like better rather than give me stuff I won't really use. I know it's a free upgrade but Sony, I really don't like having to wait a minute plus to see my or a bud's profile.

EU invites are still suffering problems and again, none were sent out today. But according to TedtheDog (Home community manager) the open beta will be rolled out before Christmas at the latest.

US/other territories aren't confirmed as of yet, but I imagine they coincide with EU.

These new invites are just to stress test the servers in intervals.

Full screen flash support is very welcomed.

My favopurite part of Sonys FW updates, they never give full details, you usually get reports over the following days of extras that were included but never mentioned by Sony.

Still waiting on private chat, that for me personally, is the only plus point Live offers over PSN.

i can findly watch rude.com on my 61" hdtv..how cool is that?!?!?! and for those who say they want cross-game chat...who cares? half you will use it...in-game message is cool enough..and you cant be impatient, because ti is FREE..think about it..if you had to pay for the service, then i would understand, but thats like sony giving you a letter saying "hey bob, just for being a good poster, we will give you a FREE psp-3000 and we will cover s&h, but it will take 2 weeks" you just saved $200...you may not understand it now, but read it over again, and you will...

I hope that means it is taking care of broken saves due to password changing. I can't play LittleBigPlanet, Burnout, Quantum of Solace, and Mercenaries 2 because it thinks I copied someones save file!!

Wasn't this done in 2.50? Oh well, any update is better than no update. Maybe this will help to eliminate the out of memory issues using the browser. I get them on the psp and was very suprised that they plague the ps3 as well.

Maybe sony should use opera or firefox as there browser for psp/ps3.
