Here's what the GTA IV downloadable content should be

Play-Mag:

"While we're not even getting the announced GTA: Lost and Damned content, due to Microsoft's clever use of cash to lure Rockstar away from the PS3, it hasn't prevented me from being disappointed. I would've stumped up the cash for some DLC, had the concept captured my imagination, but bikers? Really? Not GTA enough for me.

Here's my idea: a monster in Liberty City. Over where the sunken tankers are, on Alderney, have a giant monster emerge out of the water in real-time, triggered as soon as you enter the vicinity. Visually, it would be a terrifying sight. You'd watch as the LCPD, FBI, Army and eventually Navy try and take it down, while Roman (hopefully Kate died in your GTA IV save file, or you'll feel like killing yourself) gives you a phone call along these lines: "Holy shit, cousin!". You then have to take a chopper up to its head, pummel its face with rockets and go inside its mouth, where it's revealed that the monster ate the heart of Liberty City from the Statue of Happiness! Ridiculous, but amusing."

Haha. 50 Million dollar biker gangs. Pathetic waste of $50,000,000.

This would be awesome though. Cloverfield in GTA.

that was genius by M$. they paid for DLC and said nothing for a long time only to reveal its only missions but by the time it was announced, they had influenced people to buy it on the 360 because it was supposed to have amazing dlc, but we now know its some waste of 50 million

Yeah and they sold 2/3 of all GTA4 which is gonna equal several more million for them, easily recouping this. Also, none of us know how good it will be, if it's like the game then surely it's gonna be sweet. There are also new vehicles, weapons, music so it's not just an episode. It might quite long anyways.

yeah the DLC should have added all the cool weapons from the earlier games...made the combat not be an absolute joke compared to other real third person shooters w/ cover (uncharted for example)...and not made driving 'realistic' or whatever they tried...that resulted in driving being insanely boring...

the game does do some things right...but a lot worse steps backward from last generation...most overrated game of this generation by far...and this DLC seems to not help that so far...seriously some biker dude?...who the hell cares about that?...should have been the nameless guy from GTAIII getting a story or something, or somehow tying that into the story of GTAIV...with a lot of old liberty city favorites making an appearance...this seems too 'uh, yeah...we can make DLC I guess'...

5 - I dont agree with this guy's silly giant monster idea, but the DLC is a massive waste of money and ideas.
Is this what the new GTA 4 DLC is all about? A new biker gang character and his horde of Hell's Angels-style marauders. Plus maybe a few extra cars, weapons and multiplayer modes. No, no this is not good enough to re-ignite any interest in GTA 4, I'm seriously not at all impressed and I'm a big GTA fan. A return to Niko's character and further developing his story would have been better. Maybe a new player role based on the re-visited theme of playing a Mafioso character. Another great addition would have been more varied side missions, more varied gameplay, features (assets, businesses, properties and gang empire building) and more access to buildings and stores. Instead they come with this biker gang nonesense! HA!

I'm sorry but this DLC has two meanings - downloadable content and downloadable crap.

That aint true man, thats not what it is. I would still think it was crap even if it came on the PS3. This is not the DLC I was hoping for. I actually wanted it to be good on the 360 - at least we could see if it will improve the whole GTA 4 experience alot more with the hope that DLC will later reach the PS3. Believe it or not thats what I was thinking. I'm serious, right now I'm not feelin this biker guy gangster scenario for GTA 4 DLC it just does not feel like GTA.

I'm afraid not. I haven't played GTA IV in months and have moved on entirely. This DLC fixes nothing and hence wouldn't pull me back in even if I had the chance to buy it.

Would I care?

No.

Because GTAIV was a huge disappointment to begin with imo.
Give me a break.

What I'd love to see more than anything is just a patch to fix some game issues.

I haven't played online on the 360, but on the PS3, the spawning is atrocious in modes like DM, TDM, and Free Roam. Even when you set spawn to like, "Far," people end up spawning within a one block radius of one another. You can't even run away half the time as people who spawn in behind/after you will take you down before you can get away.

Of course, I'd like something better than the crappy chopper... I miss the Harrier. But that's just me;-)

Seriously, I own a PS3 and no X360 and I think this DLC is perfectly reasonable

They should have used the resources to make this DLC into a true sequel instead, whether its exclusive to the 360 or not. I don't care, I just want a completely brand new sequel into the series that takes place in Vice City or San Andreas. Not just an expansion pack using the same engine.

Heh. I thought the "Holy sh*t, cousin!" part was funny. Good ol' Roman.

Anyway, yeah. I was expecting more from the DLC, but as I figured before...nothing too special. It's nice...but it shouldn't have been promoted and talked about so heavily.

Some expected new areas like Vice City, San Andreas, or maybe even another part of Liberty City. They probably won't admit it now, but they may feel pretty dumb.

I don't think the game on PS3 would be able to handle a thing like that.. Game already runs at poor framerate.

I actually kinda like his idea for DLC, something utterly ridiculous would be a nice change of pace. I guess it makes sense though because given that about 50% of all GTA4 owners have said they were disappointed by the game, making something available which is much the same sounds kinda dumb as it limits your audience, something extraordinary would get a lot of people to jump in and give it a try.

I would have also liked to see more mad weapons (flamethrower, gravity gun, gun which melts clothes and leaves someone naked), more helicopters, ability to steal the tanker you arrived on and possibly a frigate too and best would be the return of the parachute and jetpack. TBH if stuff like that was included in it then I would have possibly got a 360 to play them. However, I can't see me dropping £200 on a console and game plus £15 on DLC to do the same missions again but as a biker rather than a Russian.

I mean seriously, why the hell should I always be driving people home? Get a taxi you cheap bum.

While this is probably going to be good (you can't say that the story missions in GTA4 were anything short of great) and worthy of a download, I have to admit that I was pretty disappointed when the zombie infestation rumour didn't pan out to anything more than some shtty multiplayer add-on.

I was hoping the DLC would open up the Amusement park and some of the other locations, offering interactive side-games etc...
