Sonic Unleashed Coming To 360 Before PS3

Torrence Davis of The Bitbag writes, "I've just received an email from my Sega contact that the 360 version of the game will be released on November 24th but the PS3 version won't be released until December. This means that the 360 version will get the holiday shopping advantage."

Apparently, the running is a refined version of Secret Rings and works well, but the Werehog sections are awful, so half the game is awful.

Sega must hate Sonic, or else they'd make a good game on a console... like Sonic Rush. Man, Sonic Rush is so good. Sonic has been relegated to handhelds now.

It doesn't really give the 360 an advantage because Microsoft didn't publish it. Almost all the money goes to Sega. And too bad early reports say the game sucks.

Sonic has been bad for so long now that I don't think many people care which console gets it first. I've never been a huge fan but I know crap when I see it and the last few stuck badly so maybe this latest version will be better than the last effort.

The fact that one version comes out first means the developer is shi**y. This was back in 07 when PS3 ports were getting delayed. Only the developers who suck can't make a simultaneous release for a multiplatform game. The game is going to suck.

WTH? The Bitbag isn't a reliable source? Why? The Bitbag is a great site and is more credible than most of the crap that get's approved here.

I don't think this means too much to sales anyway but still good news for those who want the game sooner than later and own a 360.

Yeah, Bitbag is reliable source and great website altogether. Why is it always Microsoft that are the cause of pushing back a title for a month or two. Are those people even developers? No. Most aren't even close, but Sonic games are normally a hit or miss due to the fact that Sega isn't fully focused with it as they use to. Remember Sega made consoles, and what game was their flagship title? Sonic. I think I'll pick this one up during the holidays. It's good to see Sonic back, even though I'm worried about how the werehog mode.

Did Microsoft spend their money to make this game a timed exclusive?

If they did that will be the ultimate proof that Microsoft is never going to invest in any real games for Xbox 360 fans.

It's another disappointment. They almost had it too. I would definitely rent this game before buying it. That's to anyone who has plans on purchasing it.

I don't know why Sega doesn't listen to their fans and just give us a Sonic game and not a Sonic/werehog Sonic or Shadow or silver or any of those characters that don't fit in and ruin the gameplay.

I called it awhile back. The Werehog levels ruined the entire game. They're repetitive, long, boring, and the puzzles suck. Sega just continues to disappoint their fans.

The JP version of this game has also been delayed. Which made me wonder if SEGA thought that delaying the JP version to improve the quality should be the same for the PS3 versions worldwide

Whether the game is good or not, this only goes to further show that developers struggle to get their games out on the PS3 because of the problems with the PS3's architecture. We have seen this many times.

First off:

Based on the reviews of this Sonic game on the Wii, its still going to be mediocre. Its like the Sonic Team is not listening. The Fans tell them what they want, it going into their ears and it leaves thru the other ear. Sonic Is Dead.

Second: No one should be surprised here. The game is leading on the 360. They probably ran into problems porting the code into the PS3 version. (based on all the videos that were shown from Sega, they only showed the 360 version.) Thus they need a few days to get the PS3 version right.

Hopefully this will be the last time that sega makes the 360 lead platform. they need to make both versions of a game equal by making their games PS3 lead at least.

The last good Sonic they had was on the Dreamcast. From looking at the commercials, They ALMOST had it with this game. It almost redeemed itself in a way. I thought "Yes, I will finally play a new Sonic game. My PS2 Sonic collections disc needs a rest". But then Sonic turning into a F'ing Werewolf, I was done. That completely ruined any type of hype I had for this game.

Fact: Sonic sucks when Sega don't have a console to support.

Even Sonic CD is considered by some to be the best Sonic game and IT WAS ON THE GODDAMN SEGA CD!!

I think that Sega just don't care anymore. They don't have to support a console, so Sonic no longer needs to be good.

The flow is completely broken. First off, you watch a damn near 30 minute opening cutscene that is just full of nonsense. They show this entire Werehog BS and you don't even start out as the Werehog. It really reminded me of Sonic Adventure with some of the perspectives (not a bad thing), but once you hit a wall or some other obstacle, it abruptly stops your character animation and looks archaic. It is far to easy to miss items because of the speed, combat is mind numbing and the story (EVEN for a Sonic title) is 4 tiers below the film masterpiece "Cool As Ice".
