I read or heard that trophies couldn't be the carbon copy of achievements. I wonder if that's still true. Either way, glad to say that trophies will be in any and every game from Jan 09 out. Although after picking up R2 and LBP the only game left on my radar is KZ2....at least for the foreseeable future.

There's only a handful of games released after the 2.50 firmware that don't support trophies out of the box.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that even EA was jumping on the trophy bandwagon early on (Dead Space and Rock Band 2 supported trophies out of the box).

I never quite understood the draw towards gamerscores on the 360, but once the PSN trophy bug bit me, I've felt so dirty ever since... ;-)

Now if only more games were patched for trophies (looking at you, Kojima-san...)

The only games from Japanese developers I know that includes trophies are Mainichi Issho, Eye of Judgment and PixelJunk Series.Trust me, they are not as excited about trophies as the Americans/Europeans.Future titles will have trophies though thanks to this, still not sure about those already released.

regardless, he'll just say it's better. Although the ability to rip games into the harddrive is a nice feature for those who want to reduce noise from the disc drive. The problem entails space for those who only have 20 gb. But I guess you can just delete and repeat the process again.

Valkyria Chronicles was too late in Development to add in Trophies. this game came out in Japan over 6 months ago then it got shipped here to the west.

Well development cycles run into years. Games we hear about are usually well into that. When trophies were first introduced games that we're playing now were already in development and the team may have been warry about switching their shedules to implement them. Especially when early on Dev's were having enough trouble with the PS3 and probably already having to push more resources that way than they'd probably of liked.

this bits important... i hate all the dreary trophy/achievements which mostly consist of grinding.... im looking at you Resistance 2

i want one-off special moment trophies- like in GTA4 where you had to blow up 10 cars in 10 seconds... more enjoyable stuff like that

i wonder what the trophies for Heavy Rain are going to be :S
