How about the Halo3 "Limited 360's" That walmart still has behind their glass cabinets?? Even a year after..

Why the hate over every single little and i mean LITTLE thing they find with the ps3.. what do they gain?? Happiness of their ever shrinking reader base??? What's so hard about liking a well built machine with great games.. Surely it can't be anything else besides the price tag..

Actually there's always the chance that by writing such stupid fanboy articles, and with such big amount of insecure fanboys they fall into their fanboy flamebait and get hits in order to get a bigger paycheck just by writing stupidities.. Umm, I am a ps3 owner and I care.........cause the cheaper I can get it, the more money I can spend on games for it...or my other consoles. Your statement would have me assume that you don't look for sales...and you do not mind paying high prices for consoles are video games. I pay for what I enjoy...but that does not mean I would not like it a whole lot more at a cheaper price.

There were two points to the post at Kotaku, to comment on that the exclusivity label was purely a marketing ploy, and to publicise the deal. They succeeded in both.

It's unsurprising that the N4G crowd have played the Sony media conspiracy card. This is the same audience who championed a perceived Columbia Films NXE block, even though it would have been anti-competitive and anti-consumer.

That MGS4 PS3 is also on Amazon.com for $399.99

That PS3 was probably produced in limited quantities, but the sales of it on Konami.com probably slowed down considerably at the $599.99 price, so they might have decided to sell it at retail so that it could get more exposure because before you could only get this PS3 at Konami.com and I'm sure not many people even knew where to buy it or even if it existed before now that it's in retail.

However, I'm sure that the people that paid the full price aren't too happy about seeing the price drop on the console by $200 dollars within just a matter of months.

I wasn't too happy when someone broke in my house and stole my 60gb ps3, which I had to replace with a 40g, but that's life. Introductory prices are always high when a product is brand new. This applies to any product.

It's a relative term. If I made 20 million consoles and only 1 million of them were MGS4 consoles, that would constitute a term, limited. It's not that there are only a few of these out there. It's that it will not be made for the term of the PS3's life but rather only a few months and could possibly be a million strong.

The Gamestop I used to work at a few months back still had Halo Edition 360s, as well as the Legendary Edition of Halo 3.

1 - this is the way I see it

this isn't the time to get a PS3.

price cuts will come mid 2009 and then there probably won't be anymore for 2 years...if Sony cuts it by 100$...

if by 50$ mid 09 another will come mid 10 by 50$ again and then a cut a year and a half after that.

Sony's stingy so they're probably thinking of cutting 50$ mid 09 while offering a launch game and may'be a headset as a part of the bundle.

it's buried but there's a bundle with a XBOX360 and a t.v., since Sony sells t.v.'s it'll be smart of them to bundle there wares going into the hard sell of HD t.v.s as the signals change for t.v. broadcasts.
i think one of the problems facing those interested in getting an HDTV is that they don't know which is the best, which is future proof..Sony may help to rectify this w/ a Sony PS3/HDTV bundle.

i'm not really interested...i'll be playing WII SALES! (and Global Great Depression.)

Another lame Kotaku article... Look, the gold copy of Zelda 64 was "said" to be "rare" and "limited" at the time too... I have like 4 of them laying around here now. Real rare artifcat, huh? Same as with any "rare" video game "limited edition" get up... it's all a gimmick and a grind.

This isn't news... the biggest thing about this is we now have the option of a really cool gun metal Ps3 should we want it. That's great news.
