the hardcores are the ones that bought a PS3 to play the game thinking it was going to be PS exclusive. I don't mind it being multiplat, but if the game is in any way less than what it could have been because now it has to be built for two systems as opposed to one, yeah...that group is going to be p'd. I'll be one of them too.

Look at the masterpiece that was MGS4. That's what I was expecting from Square. Hope they don't let me down.

Seriously, these huge FFXIII "non-announcements" are getting annoying. Everybody wants the game no matter what Square announces.

They could announce "One of Thirteen diseases with every disk!! THIRTEEN!! Choose from SARS, West Nile, Bird Flu, that f'd up disease from Outbreak, and many more!!" and fans would still line up to buy the game.

Maybe it's just me, but I just want to know when FFXIII is coming - the actual month, day, and year - and no delays.

No you're not alone. I started to lose interest when I realised that the game's been in development for so long already, and all we've seen is basically one extended trailer. All prerendered, not many hints as to story or gameplay. The last good FF IMO was FF10 and that was quite a while back. And FF10 was not nearly as good as 7,8 or 9 (9 is my personal favourite, though it was the 1st one I played..)

I feel the same way about GT5... I'm not confident the damage system will be great (if it comes at all), and other than that, well, I've played prologue and so it will feel like I've played it before, which I will have.

Don't get me wrong, it's always good to hear more info about this game, but I'm not expecting it until 2010 anyway so hype level is low atm.

I liked FFXII, the story wasn't as good as the earlier ones but I don't think it was a terrible game by a longshot, I put a lot of hours into that game.

Back on topic I hope they show the battle system in action, I would love to see that.

I think many people are starting to loose interest now.

However, maybe Square are aware of this and so this will be quite a good update to keep people interested?............... Ha ha ha ha, I crack myself up sometimes!

Thor, completely with you on the FF choices, XII was rubbish in comparison with the earlier ones. I just thought that there was no character development throughout the game.

FFX was my favorite as well--I've played all of them besides FFII--and for that reason I'm actually hopeful. The game's director said both the people on the team and their mindset for building the game were focused heavily on FFX. Fingers crossed.

Yeah remember their big announcement for PS3 fans (to counter the loss of exclusivity) was a demo that you have to buy bundled with their film? Yeah. They suck. "Lightning may wear a hat" indeed. Or maybe at some point she wears shoes? That would be a revalation and a half.

AND the demo would only have a limited release with the first shipment of FFVII:AC, guaranteeing that they wouldn't even have enough demos to satisfy the Japanese market, let alone the rest of us.

If you remember, there was also talk of charging for the demo later on, though I have a feeling that it would be free on xbox Live. Just a hunch.
