Final Fantasy XIII in New Japanese PS3 TV Spot
30
FinalFantasy-XIII.net: For the third time, Sony is using Final Fantasy XIII to advertise the Playstation 3 in a TV Spot. This time it contains footage of the Pigtails Girl for about a second. Unfortunately it isn't anything new. The commercial also contains Little Big Planet and Resident Evil 5.

Yes, Sony needs to fight fire with fire. Stop letting Microsoft take the lead.
I know they can do better than this in Japan.

2.4 - they weren't aggressive, danja
they just didn't have much competition. Saturn tanked from the get go (despite being home to many of many favorite games), and n64 was Nintendo trying to hold on to its cartridge based roots (quite literally) in a new era.

if your gonna tell me that Sony wasn't aggressive with the PS1 then thats just FUD , they were the new kid on the block , they had to try twice as hard as Nintendo to convince devs to develop games for there systems much less secure 3rd party exclusives...

3 - if
Sony is able to have the game exclusive for japan then they will have ridiculous sales from it, i almost feel as if Sony only cared about keeping it exclusive in Japan knowing how well it does.

i doubt they only valued it's exclusivity in Japan.. an exclusive FF game would help them world-wide, even in America
still though, their exclusive 2009 line-up is looking epic and certainly makes up for the loss of FF13
see the thing is, the FF fans that are looking to buy a next-gen console to play the game (and that is quite a few) will still prefer the PS3 as you still get the best FF experience with an extra FF game and timed exclusivity if you can import... also there's the possibility of an FF7 remake heading to the PS3

This game staying exclusive in Japan would mean that Sony would funnel most japanese FFXIII sales through their console.
Japanese 360 owners would have to purchase a PS3 to play it or wait for, then import the game when it hits elsewhere for 360.
Final Fantasy sells *well* in Japan.

i remember those days...doing the swap trick to get an imported title to work. or putting a clicking pen's spring in the back of the lid to hold down the button and then you could just stop the disc and swap it.
man...that was long ago!

As far as i know it isn't coming out in Japan for the 360 only the rest of the world. This might change though due to the re-newed interest in the xbox there.
Scrap that... news is coming in Sony have just lost exclusivity for Japan.

If its anything like the last FF's it won't be worth the wait. Mass Effect has raised the bar for these type of rpgs and FF seems stuck in the past now.

i disagree, mass effect is a shooter rpg and to be perfectly honest the whole genre of wrpg's although good dont interest me half as much as the jrpg's that are coming out (ff,Wkc).
I'll tell you why, the story is not there the interesting story just isn't the same when your playing a wrpg.

Agree, very few or almost none of the WRPG interest me. The only one that caught my interest was Fable and KOTOR but other than those everything else was mehhhhhhhhhh. I guess it's the way WRPG's stories.

I just saying FF's system seems a bit old fashioned. I loved the earlier ones but the last few haven't been as good in my opinion. I might been wrong about 13 but Square haven't exactly been great latley.
Mass Effects dialogue and level up system just seemed better implemented. Yes it had problems but it seemed fresher.
