Dead Space Comes With Two Demos on the Disc

Eager horror fans who just picked up Dead Space will find a couple extra goodies of the non-scary kind when they pop the disc into their system. At least on the PS3 version, you get two Blu-ray Disc icons under the Game XMB -- one for Dead Space of course, but surprisingly also one for EA Demos.

Included on the disc are demos for Battlefield: Bad Company and Burnout: Paradise.

I like the idea but why not put demos for newer games on there. They could have easily thrown a Mirror's Edge or Need for Speed demo on there.

Cmon guys, don't have them force us to buy a game for a demo. That's just bad. It's almost like what qore is doing right now, only 57$ more.

@1.5

Whoever pays $60 for a game just to play a demo is a retard imo. There's nothing we can do to stop that.

Oh, except tell you to rent the game.

Yeah, I just found this out today. I got Dead Space earlier today and there was a Battlefield Bad Company and Burnout Paradise Demo. I think it's a good idea to put demos on certain games for the people that don't have access to the internet and can't download them.

I don't know if the 360 version has it or not, but it looks like EA used the extra Blu-ray space to put the demos on there for the PS3.

Thats all well and good but tbh, they have missed out on more sales by not putting in a demo for Mirror's Edge.

Honestly, how many people would pay for Dead Space just because of a ME demo? One that is coming out for free soon.

It's not a significant difference, and if it was, we wouldn't be having this conversation because a ME demo would be on the disc.

6.1 - DO NOT BUY DEAD SPACE IF YOU HAVE A WEAK STOMACH!!!
I know we've all heard this enough times already but I really cannot stress this enough. Dead Space is UNBELIEVABLY scary. I'm on Chapter 2, the Medical Center, and there's just blood all over the place, dead bodies that you can interact with (and by "interact" i mean rip apart limb from limb, even the innocent people that died on the Ishimura can be ripped apart and thrown around with the Kinesis Module), etc. The creatures are unpredictable and loud once you're spotted. They even play dead. I've been surprised by these things so many times already that I'm on my 5th pair of pants, the other 4 have sh*t all over them. BTW there are 12 chapters. I'm sure that before I hit Chapter 3 I'll be on my 6th pair.

The Obsidian Suit is absolutely stunning. Way more detailed than the normal suit. My friend sent me a picture of the Elite Suit and it looks cool but FAR from the coolness of the Obsidian. Do not rent Dead Space. Buy it.

I saw that earlier today. Nice thing, at least it makes use of the additional space but I already have those two games. It's good nonetheless.

so they could sell two full games too ? would be nice if you get like an older game ( I think madden 08 was like 8 gb) for free and this would boost sales

11 - DEAD SPACE is da sh*t!!!
This game is completeley freaky, and like sushipoop says, this game is much scarier than RE4 IMO! and the game won't let you decompress when you access menus, no! the game is never paused! no HUD at all (well information is included on the character's suit). This game is a jewel, that got me hyped yesterday! (I actually thought of buying this game tuesday the 14th of oct. I almost didn't know what it was). someone who has the game try this: use the kinetic module with a stand alone head on the wall and it will blow up!

Agreed! And yes LMAO I discovered that earlier. The lady that dies right before she gives you the Kinetic Module... I stomped her head off off and lifted her head off the ground with the Kinetic thingy and I shot it across the room and it exploded into bits on the wall. I couldn't stop laughing. EA Redwood for the win!

This game is GOT(R)Y!

Edit: with the ever so excellent burnout, the upcoming Mirror's Edge, Dead space and Battlefield Bad company(I actually didn't have a chance to play it, so the demo is right on time with me!) EA has seriously rose in my expectations.

14 - I think its a great idea
Better to have demos than installing a DRM virus like program that allows that game to only be played on that PS3. Thankyou EA :)

15 - I'm diggin' it
I think it's cool that they put the demos in. They didn't have to, so it's just a nice little bonus.

I'm enjoying the game and I just started the third level, but so far I don't know if I can call it "scary". Gory? Yes. Graphically violent? Oh yeah. Blood, guts, dismemberment, and carnage? Check.
But scary? Not sure yet.

Now maybe i'm just really desensitized to graphic horror and violence due to the amount of horror films and real-life violence i've seen in my life, but up to this point, I haven't had a single make-me-jump-outta-my-seat scary moment. Hopefully that will change as I move forward.

I'm definitely enjoying what i'm seeing so far. Looks great and is easy to get involved in.

They could have done something good with this, but instead put some demos of games that have already came out. Good ideas need solid execution.

17 - always cool to see demos on game discs.
ea could put demos of all there game releases on one bluray disc and still have room for the actual game.

would like to see more of this from other companies.

but way better than putting a beta on a disc such as...um.....crackdown's disc.

apocalypse..............
