I was really looking forward to this game.

A demo should be a must.

With all the stuff they have given us already I really don't care. Free comics, Dev dairies, and tons of game play videos. Not have a demo is fine. And I will get this first day. Anyone else?

Sounds like someone isn't to assured their game is going to make the cut. I wish Mercs2 had a demo before it released because I would have canceled that POS.

Demo's can work both ways.

Bioshock demo blew people away and made them want more.

Mercs demo... Yeah you said it.

It also depends how they present the demo. Obviously a glitchy unfinished hardly working low resolution boring level demo (haze) will just scare people away even more.

Companies need to take demo's more seriously. Make that damn demo 150% spit shined and polished before releasing it. Even if it's a short 5-10 minute demo, make it the best 5-10 minutes anybody's ever played in their lives and that will sell the full game.

I think it is so the game will have the full effect all the way through. A demo would spoil some parts of the game.

However, I would have liked a demo. I guess I will order it off of Gamefly sometime...

That's exactly what I was thinking! I was so psyched for this Thursday's PSN update, because I thought there would be a Dead Space demo. I was pissed at first, but I figured they didn't want to spoil anything. No worries, I'm still going to buy this game. Even w/o a demo. I love what I've seen so far and I need my survival/horror game fix.

8 - Well, IGN gave the game an 8.7, which is pretty damn good, IMO
I trust IGN's reviews, and since they had so many good things to say about this game, I think it's safe to say I'll be buying it even without a demo.

I've been looking forward to this game ever since the first trailer was released for it.

IGN's integrity can be questioned sometimes. But yeah they are usually in the right "range" for gamers interested in a review score.

Although GTA IV didn't deserve a 10. Maybe a 9.

10 - This game has my attention,
I'd prefer a demo before I buy. But still reviews would be good enough as well.

I don't think this was a wise move. Every new IP should have a demo it helps a lot of people decide if they're interested in purchasing the game.

A demo would be nice for those of us who want to see if they can handle the scares. Not for me though, I'm a man who likes his horror.

Congrats to Redwood studios. I expect Dead Space to blow up into a full boar horror franchise that can easily contend with other horror games like Silent Hill and Siren, along with those terrifically frightening horror FPSs from Monolith.

EA has a demo out for nearly every game that they put out this gen and they some how decided not to put one out for this game. Even Mirriors edge has a demo coming out. I smell something fishy going on. Hmm...Gamefly it is indeed.
