Who the hell cares about that, it's probably just a 10 second cutscene of the intro of the game, who cares. when the game is released, it is still going to sell millions and probably be chosen for game of the year .....again. Oh! and BTW, thanks Xbox for bringing gaming standards down, if Resident Evil 5 was a PS3 Exclusive it would look beyond better than that. Hmmmm, Bioshock came out how long ago for the 360.......and the ps3 version is having problems with having the same quality....want to explain how the 360 caused a lower standard on that on? Ohh, and its not just a myth...because the company responded to complaints by ps3 owners.

I say all this to say......unless you have proof that the quality will be dropped......stop blindly echoing the sentiments of others.

I understand what you were doing there...and it was all well and good...

...but his post made logical sense. Yours did not. I don't, in any way, think the 360 is dragging this game down, but it's at least a possibility. If 2K can't figure out how to make a good PS3 port, it's their faults...not the PS3. Bethesda and EA Chicago figured it out. Why don't they just ask Insomniac for help? They even teach a free course to any developer willing to listen. The PS3 not being good enough or having the attach rate to hold onto the series thing...you are aware that Resident Evil 1, 2, 3, 4 and many side-story projects have released on Gamecube, PC, and Gameboy systems, right? Xbox is just getting it because Capcom likes to make money.

The attach rate is the cause of gamers...poor gamers. We don't have money to buy 2 new games every week, trade them in, and buy 2 more. We are GAMERS! Do you understand this? Most Xbox gamers I know were given an Xbox with Halo by their moms and dads for Christmas one year and had no qualms about dissing the rest of the gaming world when they had JUST started getting into it. Am I wrong? Most Xbox 360 gamers are the same way. Other sources of income paid for the system, so they don't see a reason to stop buying games constantly and trading them in.

Gamers keep games because they are good games...games that changed their lives...we don't just trade them in later because we needed that extra 10 bucks for Rock Band 3. Most real gamers aren't rich. What does that leave? Rich kids who are given everything.

To me the intro and that trailer has made me excited for RE5. The stuff that dissapoints me is demos of the gameplay. The graphics don't look like a 2009 game and none of the gameplay has been different compared to RE4 besides the coop which at this point it looks boring. It's not like we haven't played a coop storyline online before.

If they were rich then why would they need ten bucks. It's not really a matter of which system is gimping a game. If it's multiplat and it's not a direct port (at least from 360 to PS3 in most cases) it's going to reduce the quality of the overall game. Look at GTA4; if it had been an exclusive on either system it would have been a much better game. Instead Rockstar had to develop two separate versions of the same game at the same time thus reducing the quality of the game overall.

Which means it is not the xbox 360's fault....Capcom has the right to maximize RE5 for each respective console....if they choose not to do that, then it is Capcom's fault.

Moving along...the rest of your post I have no idea what you are talking about. The logic in my statement is that clearly developers know which console gamers are willing to drop their money quicker on. Search the forums and see how many people are willing to buy the 360 version of a game over a ps3 version because of live...because of achievements, the list goes on.......so if ps3 had all this stuff on lock and had a clear advantage over the 360, with it showing more gamers using the ps3 just for gaming.........then the cost/benefit ratio would swing heavily for the ps3, which would give Capcom less of a reason to bring the game to the 360. Games that are released on both consoles often times sells better on the 360...so if Johover wants to blame the 360...lets go a little deeper and blame the ps3 for the things they did wrong...which would have companies opting for non-exclusive 3rd party games.

First off, if you think Halo is the same crappy game with more graphics then fine, that's your opinion. I could say "Well, Resistance 2 is the same mediocre Resistance with more graphics." or "MGS4 is the same old boring game with better graphics." but that doesn't make it right cause I said so.

Number two, the typical 'RROD LOLOLOL ALL DAY LONG' thing. The newer 360s with the Japser or Falcon motherboards last almost as long as a PS3 or Wii would. Even then the RROD has nothing to do with the amount of sales.

Number three, MGS4 almost used up the whole Blu-ray disc and Kojima had to cut some things to fit it all in the disc. True about the Xbox 360 not being about to use more than 9GB but it doesn't affect quality.

the graphics look awesome but to me this isn't a step forward. RE5 is basically RE4 HD with Co-op. the next generation of hardware means when enemies get killed there bodies stay there, they done bubble up and disappear, especially if you are a human being... for PS2, and Gamecube RE4 was exceptional and i knew of the PS2 and gamecube limitations preventing bodies from just staying there.

this is next gen... games like Resistance and gears and Heavenly sword and Fable 2 have it where if an human dies the body stays there they don't just disappear. which was also why i was a bit upset with DMC4, because the creatures certainly had mass but disappeared into thin air, even after their elaborate death animation... It looks and plays the same way with just higher poly counts and better animation.

and i'm sure it'll be the same for the next games that follow the series.

And BTW to the people up there that doubt multiplatform, multiplatform games can raise standards. Look at Assassin's Creed, Great graphics and ambience, it was just too repetitive. Other than that, there's parkour mechanics, the amazing storyline, the combat system, the graphics were astonishing on a HD set up. The draw distance was pretty damn far with no slow down.

Resident Evil 5 is shaping up to be a great game, no matter what. So far it's my anticipated GOTY for 2009. Co-op Resident Evil? Count me in!

Back to the subject at hand, yes i think that the resident evil 5 trees might just be a small cutscene and not actually in the gameplay field. for example: in the trailer of star wars the force unleashed, while Darth vader is staring out the window into space, his right hand man comes up behind him. you could clearly see his arm going through darth vaders body but yet again.....it was only a cutscene.

i also believe that it is going to be game of the year.

Many of the comments that find fault with someone "picking" on "their" game do come from a disgruntled number of Sony supporters who solidly believe a developer should NEVER cross the fence, no matter what.

Even IF their company is loosing money, even if their favoured developers is not selling the numbers needed to support the HUGE financial outlay they now incur with development of games that the fans DEMAND. Those developer should stay steadfast and not buckle and move across the floor and keep their stockholder happy, who will pull out their support if shares do not rise, but fall due to poor sales figures.

Most definitely, Square Enix, Capcom etc should NEVER taint themselves such trivial matters, and be happy with a small attachment rate, while their "competition" has a solid 8:1 attachment rate and sell several million copies of their games to a huge userbase.

Silly of them, after all, they will "disappoint their fans, who, by the way, are NOT buying the games in the numbers they need for said developer to survive . but what does that matter . . .Sony is god, and all else is trivial.

- well first, most people do know that the xbox was more powerful than the ps2. second, PS3 is doing the same strategy as ever but they loose a little of third party support to the X360 because of the high price tag that caused that less people purchased a PS3. less user fanbase = less games; why? less money for the developers and with the increasing cost to make HD games third party's prefer to make game multi-plat. there are fewer third party exclusives games compared to last gen and that was made the PS2 to win over the past console war but this time around there are fewer but the X360 has the lowest price tag and there is were they got the edge over the PS3.

my point with my argument is ^ that the X360 is not winning because of the games but because of the combination of games and price because most games these days are multi-plat and that means that both consoles have practically the same games.

PS1 introduced Compact Disc as the media storage, PS2 introduced DVD as the media Storage and PS3 introduced BLU-ray disc as the media storage. Did you see the trend? Sony it's doing the same that have been doing since the first time they entered to the video game market. but now Sony knows that most third party's are going multi-plat meaning that they are coming to the PS3 too anyway and that is why they don't care as much as in last gen about them so now they are focusing in making their first and second party's stronger to try fallow the strategy you're talking about.

Sony's trying to push their pricy console with exclusive games that as the word "exclusive" implies, you can't found them on other consoles.

Developers should have gotten behind the new architecture given what's possible on the system (Uncharted, R&CF:TOD, MGS4, KZ2, R2, and inFamous all say hi) but most freaked out and decided to take the easy way out and cop out behind "what! No same ol' same ol', I don't have to and YOU can't make me." Unfortunate but it's rapidly changing. Compared to what's coming out for PS3 this probably will look terrible so you're right about that when put into perspective.
