NBA 2K9 (360, PS3) Freezing Issues

The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of NBA 2K9 by 2K Sports seems to be hampered by a serious freezing issue, as message boards are alight with reports of serious freeze issues and framerate issues. 2K Sports has yet to respond to queries about this, but the sheer number of complaints makes this problem more than just isolated issues.
Updates:
2K Sports has officially acknowledged freezing issues on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of NBA 2K9: "We are aware of freezing issues occurring when going online with both the Xbox 360 and PS3 console and NBA 2K9. This has to do with issues on our server that we are working to correct."

great game but they need to get their online fixed... too laggy.
