I'm going to give you a bubble just to see if that ends up being true. I'm sure we'll know by the end of the year. People keep talking about gears and resistance, but there's far cry, dead space and Socom. For me it might be, Resistance over gears, with far cry in a league of its own and socom as underrated title of the year.

Resistance 2 game of the year. Quote me too. Also IMO Killzone 2 will dissapoint quite a bit of people. 7/10 across the board. Resistance 2 9-10/10s.

That's not true.

MGS4 and LBP will be fighting for GOTY...despite how good R2 will be.

Killzone 2 will upset some people, I think. They aren't really doing anything innovative with it...but it will definitely be a solid shooter.

It will get bad reviews though...because of the hype.

I think the graphics, innovative first person cover system, and non downgraded graphics durign multiplayer wont let anyone down. Plus the in game events that go on are crazy.

I also think that MGS4 is GOTY. But that is purely based on my judgement of the game as an artform.

Honestly, however, I think the GOTY title will go to one of the following titles, based on sales-based PR spin and under-the-table dealings among some of the local publishers:

- GTA4 (highest sales of the year)
- Gears of War 2 or Resistance 2 (fanboy hype)
- LBP (PR hype)

I do believe that R2 will be FPS of the year.... the only other game to come close is possibly Far Cry 2, but I'm not really that excited for FC2.

For overall GOTY, I think GTAIV, Fallout 3, MGS4, & LBP are really the only games in the running!

As for Killzone 2, I really don't think it's going to dissapoint. From what I've seen, I doubt it scores lower than 8's from any of the major gaming sites. The online multiplayer IS actually pretty innovative... Not in a huge way, but in a very fun way. Same with the first person cover system & GORGEOUS graphics. Unless the aiming and A.I. suck, it actually seems impossible for FPS fans to not like this game.

You only call it "shooter" because Gears 2 is coming out 3 days later. Why do you even bother to bash Gears 2 in a Resistance 2 article? Is there not a Gears 2 article to troll today?

P.S. I personally think Resistance 2 will be AS good as Gears 2. Not better or worse.

I don't think that will happen with games with platinum trophies. You earn all the trophies and get the platinum. Then you download the expansion pack. Now do you lose the platinum, or have it without having earned all the trophies? And what if you are a later purchase and buy the expansion right away? If the expansion adds trophies, how do they handle it to keep it fair across the board?

little comment on your Siren review though...you say the voice acting is better than 'any game'?...I agree its acceptable, but Uncharted and MGS4 are simply unmatched in that area of production value...Siren doesn't even come close...
