Shame they did bother to ask what FPS it is actually running at. Id rather know what the game provides, than what it doesn't.
Not really relevant to the PC channel either.

Agreed. I would guess it`s 30fps though. Let`s just hope it`s locked at 30fps and it will be fine.

the human eye can't even see at 120fps so unless you are a robot or alien than 120fps doesn't matter besides, everyone can tell far cry 2 is meant for the pc and 360, they hype the 360 version and show off the prettiness of the pc version, but where's the ps3? I'm guessing they couldn't figure out the cell things, well I'll get it for PC anyway, unless the mapmaker is console exclusive which in that case I'll get it for 360,

but then again i see that ppl here don't think other ppl are entitled to their tastes and opinions.

When and where have you played it? Because honestly I think your talking complete rubbish, the game (PS3 version) has only been shown hands on to select bunch of industry types and only a very small amount of early build footage has been shown.
Please explain or I will continue to think your talking rubbish.

Who actually thought that this would run at 60fps on the consoles? What a pointless question to ask, Its way to open world for that. 30fps is totally fine, if it starts crawling though when things get intense or there`s to much on screen that is going to totally screw the whole experience up.

Nah you want to do what I do, run the folding at home gpu client to use up all those spare frames per second that are frivolous. It's funny really I can run all console ports max settings at 1680 x 1050 and still run the gpu folding client. The only game that loses fps rates is Crysis and Warhead.

I'd rather take a graphical hit than lose 60fps in online multiplayer.
Rocksteady 60fps is a factor in what makes CoD4 king of online.
(Obviously not the only factor - it's an all round good game, but for serious twitchy gamers 60fps is the ideal)

The question shouldn't be is it 60fps. The question should be does it ever lag due to processing? If the answer is no, then I don't care what the fps comes in at. In fact, I would argue that teams aren't taking their game to its full potential if they are at 60 fps. They could apply more processing power to improve the game. As long as the most intensive section doesn't lag, you are good to go.

you reckon if this was ps3 exclusive it'd handle a better frame rate? I do, as that was one of the big selling points of the cell, which was it can handle soooo many tasks all at once

Ratchet and Clank Future ran at 60 fps, but HAZE didn't; so it really depends on the experience of the programming team.

13.2 - yesh but
while the ps3 can handle all these things at once, it is divided amongst the cells losing processing power on each cell, much like a dual core or quad core cpu, the 360 is known for it's graphics programming but can have trouble running things like lots of physics and events, it's hard to say who is the winner, we'll have to wait for next gen to see, I think the ps3 is very powerful and more powerful than the 360, but currently I'm having a way better experience with the 360. oh and if Deus Ex 3 is dumbed down because of the consoles than I'm going to kill M$ and Sony

Im not sure i could tell the difference!
If someone told me that one game was running at 30fps and another was 60fps i doubt i could pick which was which.
Infact aslong as the game doesnt stutter in anyway does anyone notice the difference?
I thought the human eye could only register 27 fps - like a cinema projector and that seems smooth to me.
I apologise if im wrong ^^^!!!

if you showed me a game running at 30fps and 60fps, i can tell which is which.
60fps runs A LOT smoother than 30fps. look at last year's madden 08 on PS3 and 360, compare rainbow six vegas 2(360 version, of course) to cod4. my point is that you can see the difference between 30fps and 60fps.

they have TVs that run at 120hz instead of 60hz, not sure if thats exactly the same as fps, but it kicks up the frame rate in Blu-Rays from 24 to about...double. looks really sick, havent noticed it on games tho. i suggest going into ur local "best buy"isk store and watching Pirates 2 on a 120hz tv...you'll see what im talking about

18 - Is this really news???
I curious to find out who really believed at any point in time that that this game would be 60fps. I'm in no way a tech guy, but for some reason I saw this coming. What's the need of an article to state the obvious? Are we really this out of touch with reality?
