1 - I must be stupid but im really confused...
I always hear about this Yakuza thing, I thought it was some Japanese triad mafia thing, what's the game all about? and didn't a Yakuza 2 just come out or something? So confused lol

Correct, The Yakuza are basically the Japanese mafia.

Yakuza 2 was a PS2 game that released in JPN a long time ago but recently saw a western release.

There has also been a seperate "stand alone" Yakuza game released in JPN (ps3) called Yakuza Kenzan

Dont worry your confusion is justified. Basically, this is the 3rd in the series of Yakuza games. Kind of a happy medium between Shenmue and GTA.

Nvm,fishy pretty much covered it :P (talking to myself)

I never played it Yakuza 1 or 2 but from what i've seen of these screenshot's it honestly looks like the most graphically amazing game i've seen so far.i mean,you can actually see every pore on the characters face,every hair is detailed,the wrinkles on the skin..WOW!

I have to import a few games from Japan soon..this and WKC!

The actual side stories name is Ryu Ga Gotoku Kenzan and the story revolves around one of the most famous Samurai in Japanese history, Miyamoto Musashi founder of Hyōhō Niten Ichi-ryū(two heavens as one) or Niten-ryū style of swordsmanship.

They keep making them because it's actually really big in Japan. We just got the second one, and Japan already has a PS3 spin off out and this one in the works.

Mafia is the western term for organized crime. Chinese mafia is called triads, while it's called yakuza in Japan.

Yakuza usually means gangster, and is not tied to the word "mafia"

For the Yakuza is much older than the "mafia" ;P

Edit: STILL no word on a state side release? I won't even hold my breath.

You'd think after PS2 they'd release more wacky Japanese stuff out here... I mean.. we're ready for it, the world is going to pot. Why not?
