this is a great bundle for ppl that hold out on buying a ps3, this and (the LBP bundle thats also comming out i think).

160gb - although u can upgrade your HDD, 160g will hold you off more than a 40 or 60. and its the same price lol.
UC:drake's F: a must play if you own a ps3.
DS:3 lol no more sixaxis, (felt light and cheap IMO) lol
Voucher for pain, i actually bought pain and i dont regret it. fking love it, challenges are insane....

And Uncharted 2 is comming next year, pretty good idea to get ppl to play the first one.

This is a great bundle, but no way can it match the 80 GB MGS4 bundle that I bought! :) It has BC and HDD isn't an issue since it's upgradeable :3

You are right. I just bought me a second one and thought about waiting for this one. But actually, I can get a 320G now for those $100 diff. So I went with the 80G and I do have Pain & UC already. I would have gone for a $299 one, if available, regardless of specs, though.

This is a great console but the price is just too high. SONY will need to do something this holiday season or they will get left in the dust. Having great games is one thing but the high price point will keep most from purchasing a PS3. SONY needs to wake up and realize most are really going to cut back and won't be going high end for anything. When this releases hopefully it will be accompanied by a price drop...

Yes, it is. Especially for those wanting to jump in with a bigger hard-drive right off the bat. Plus UC:DF and Pain are both great selections. Pain is a bit on the "meh" side, but it's still pretty fun, I think.

Sorry, but I have the 60gb model and full BC and to be honest, it's nothing to brag about. In fact, it is last on my list of features that persuaded me to buy the PS3, even when it was 600 bucks here in the States.

Not everybody wants or even cares about BC.

Sony didnt do anything wrong. they did whats best for their customers, like what they did with PS2.

PS2 is currently selling well.

Microsoft is not that soft on their customers.... RRoD has been and always will be a nightmare on their mind. Most customers are still not that confident in MS.

10.3 - i think both consoles have done a lot for gaming
The 360s hardware problems are an inconvenience at most for those which are under warrantee and well sony are just guilty of being a bit lazy at the start of the cycle really. They still need to spend more on their games and PR campaigns to not let MS get on over on them when it comes to the multiplatform games but now the PS3 is really coming into its own. I own both consoles and I love them both. I can see the ps3 is a better console its just a shame the xbox has had more going for it up to this point in time but like I said, I think the ps3 is gonna hit back.

I think $500.00 is a little too much for a PS3 with no "bc" and a game thats over a year old.If I had to pick,I would go with the metal gear solid bundle with the "bc" for $500.00.I think they should sell this for $399.99 and drop the price of the 80gig with no "bc" to $350.00

I think so too. The playfield has changed. No matter how stubborn Sony might be. This is a little victory for MS. I think they should react to this new situation, even though Sony might no like it. I could imagine, they can lower the price with the 45nm cell chip, but that's not quiet ready yet and they tried to get thru the holidays and then lower the price early next year. But now, I think they have to do something for the holiday sales. Or Sony is happy by selling half of the competition but make a profit rather then dropping the price and make no money at all.

Typical Sony doing typical stupid things. Uncharted has sold nearly 3 million units to date. It's made its money and 2x's more back. Why give this game a bundle and more revenue when R&CFTOD is much more family orientated, never got a U.S. bundle and has only sold 1.7 million units to date?

Get that game over the 2 million mark, sony! Hell, get Warhawk over the million mark since you wanna tout Online dominance so much.

Sony needs a new mindset and business model at the end of the day. They're not thinking. A R&CFTOD bundle would sell atleast 1.3 to 1.5 million units alone.

People don't know how good the game is and don't wanna take a chance on buying just anything for 60 bucks so they pass it up for safe bets like Madden and other commercial run of the mill games. You toss R&CFTOD in a bundle for everyone who buys a Ps3 to have and enjoy, you've got nearly 1.5 million more dedicated R&C fans and potential future buyers of the series.

Uncharted was a big game and it sold very well. It's stupid to bundle this one

Uncharted is better suited for this bundle because it's more hardcore of a game than Ratchet. Ratchet is a great game but it would work better if it were bundeled with the $400 PS3, not the $500 system.

Honestly I think Sony should have realses this 160 PS3 with Last remnant Like Microsoft has a bundle when the game is relased. Uncharted Is a great game son't get me wrong sony should have realsed this 160 with Uncharted 2. Personally i think if they add the price sales might slow down. Cause people have Uncharted and can upgrade a 40 gig to a 500 gig at half the price. Honestly the only way I would get this sysyem is if its backwards compatible with PS2.

I don't think they have much ground to stand on though. More is to be made on LBP at launch as a stand alone game rather than a pack in game and SONY wants the numbers on this game to be HUGE.

Can SONY seriously put a $500 dollar console on the market (NO MATTER THE VALUE OF THE PACKAGE) and realistically expect it to have an impact in a holiday season where each of their competitors has a system available for at least $250 less then this offering. Sadly, SONY will lose this Christmas, regardless of software because the people buying this will see $500 dollars. The loyal fan base cannot carry a console alone this gen.

I know there are cheaper PS3 SKU's available, but a price drop is mandatory to maintain pace with the Wii and 360.

forever fiddling with the hard drive is not winning any customers, just creating confusion and anger amongst users who already have the machine and also potential buyers.
