Resident Evil 5 baddies confirmed: Albert Wesker, Excella Gionne

QJ Net writes: "Famitsu scans have revealed two new characters set to join the PS3 and Xbox 360's Resident Evil 5 cast. Chris Redfield's little outing in Africa couldn't get any better as his age-old nemesis is back for another bout. Yes, Albert Wesker is indeed to appear in RE5.

I'm sure you guys remember him - first seen in Resident Evil, then appearing again in RE: Code Veronica, RE Zero, RE4, and of course, played a pivotal role in Umbrella Chronicles. Oh, and the RE: Extinction movie too."

Can't say im to pleased. Same old resi evil, same characters etc. I remember just after Resi 1 came out and the developers were going to have totaly differnet stories and characters for each game but with each having a horror setting... until everyone started wanting to see what happened to raccon city and the characters.
Im a bit bored with the whole unbrella thing... i did start to think this one was going to be more interesting. The Afica setting is good and was hoping for at least some kind of different bad guy. But no, same old baddie with umbrella pulling the strings. Couldn't they come up with something new after all the games they have done in the series.
I know a lot of people will say the unbrella/ wesker thing is the whole point and im probably in the minority but i just think they could have come up with a totaly different story. Keep the Chris and the the STARS but have them investigate something else.

Umbrella IS out of the picture. Its dead and gone. Wesker was stealing stuff from umbrella for other parties who paid better. He has his hands on the t virus, the g virus, and now the parasites from resi 4 (forgot the name for em, been a long time since i touched my gamecube)

Was kind of obvious wesker was going to be in this one... how else did them parasites get to africa? :P

The thing MOST interesting about those scans is that we might actually get to see who weskers been working for all those years since resi 1. If it was mentioned in umbrella chronices or anything like that, then my bad. I've only ever really followed the numbered titles :P

And still no zombies... Really, I'll buy it because RE series is just that great, but I'll not be tolerating villagers yelling on me again, this game used to be about maintain your heartbeats high while you try to SURVIVE (not hunt), about crapping your pants everytime a monster came from nothing (not expect big arenas so you gonna kill something big).

I'll buy this, but I'm almost sure even the this-time-american-made Silent Hill will please me more.
