Sony: Update on the US Beta keys giveaway process

Sam, SCE Developer, has just revealed through the official SCEA Forums new details on how the LBP Beta key giveaway process will be done. Sam stated that 'More codes are being issued through a website today, but I'm unable to say which one.'

Other than that, this is what Sam declared:
-Several sites will be giving out thousands of codes in the next 5 days.
-Email invitations are being sent today.
-These are the only ways to get into the beta.
-The LittleBigPlanet News Site will be giving out more details tomorrow.

But this is why us in the US go to other countries for beta keys. They continue to mail them out to people who no one seems to know. SCEA is really beginning to piss me off now. I own Qore and its the end of Sept. and where the F*** is my R2 beta at?

Americans "put up" with "American hating," because most of us act like complete and utter douches to every other country. we have such a "hero complex" it's ridiculous. and don't even get me STARTED about how hypocritical Americans are (sex and violence are BAD! but we'll use sex and violence to sell a product).

my sister lives in Japan now, and she was telling me on the phone how c0cky, arrogant, self-entitlement obsessed the Americans are over there.

this one guy was buying something from the checkout counter, and the Japanese cashier asked him if he had a dollar (i'm assuming to make his change even), and he goes "well, yeah, of COURSE i do," and proceeds to take out the dollar and literally THROW it at her.

is that necessary? no. are all Americans self-serving twats? no, we aren't, but when you turn on the TV and watch the news, see commercials, or hell, even go outside your door, you see exactly that.

if people have a negative perception of Americans, it's because there are a lot of Americans out there GIVING them reason to do so.

i don't like it anymore than you do, but the only thing we can do is prove other countries wrong by being REAL Americans, and not this almost parody of an American that the country has become over the past few decades. i grew up in a time where it was easier to stand proud and proclaim, "hey, i'm American! nice!" but nowadays, it's a joke. and it really upsets me that i even feel that way being as how i know no other country but the one i was born and raised in, and each generation it just gets worse and worse in terms of what "America," and "American" are supposed to stand for. bottom line, is we are better than what we are currently, and until we wake up and get our sh*t together, we'll be the ire of many a nation.

Well said and I agree about the about the arrogance of some Americans giving America a bad name but it goes for all countries .. With what happen with 9/11 almost every American had a total hatred for Muslims but not everyone who practiced the religion is bad but it was those few that took it upon themselves to put hate on another country ruins it for all. I being Canadian sometime s get the same thing but no matter where you live there always a bad apple in the bunch.

On topic I can t wait for this game this is going to be a huge seller for the PS3 i hope to have my PS3 sometime next week and although I wont be able to get into this beta (I have some many games to catch up on) I still look forward to getting this for myself and my fiance who is looking forward to this as well.

that's right, it does go both ways. everybody seems to have preconceived notions of everybody else based on what we've seen and heard on TV, or a few experiences in person with a particular group.

personally, EVERYBODY pisses me off, but i don't actually hate everybody. i'm just very disappointed in how MY people present themselves, especially when going to another persons land, and acting like we own the place.

i guess everybody thinks they're hot sh*t, but that doesn't justify being complete @ssholes to everybody that's not your "nationality."

Behaving on the PSN would help too...I know I have to mute everyone when I get into a room full of americans in CoD4, because all they can do is listen to hip-hop, swear like sailors, and just generally be d!ckheads.

@ 14: helps building up the hype...the Eurogamer beta keys giveaway thread here in N4G got 450+ comments...that only happened because evryone wanted in. Giving the keys like this just ensures ppl keep thinking about the game and get excited for it :D

So your problem is them giving away many keys? Eurogamer was the one which gave more and they are british, so there's no problem. The Scandinavian and Portuguese websites all put together probably gave out less than 1000 keys.

And Sony has already said each region will get 20 000 keys, so its the same for everyone. Europe isn't getting more than US or Japan, and vice-versa.

anyway, i'd bet ign, 1up, and Gamespot are probably shoe ins for codes.

to be honest, i'm not even going to bother. it's just going to torment me for the full release anyway. i'll just wait until October 21st. i'm in the SOCOM Beta (which isn't bad, but as a SOCOM noob, it's hard), and i was in the Warhawk Beta way back when (my first ever beta!), and i'll be in the Resistance 2 Beta thanks to Qore, so i'm pretty much beta tapped at the moment.

for those that get into the LBP Beta, congratulations, have a blast (like you WON'T! lol), and i hope you all make some bomb @ss levels so when i get the game next month, i'll have more than just the 50 Media Molecule designed ones to play around with!
