Great fanatasy - trick the PS3 into thinking its running demo files and run full ISOs

Still trying to make the program user friendly, and testing this with other games besides madden 09. Will make better video when I buy a better camcorder." So here's the video..."

Can you trick the PS3 into thinking you don't have to install everything you download, demos, qore episode and such. Now that would be nice.

you can see that the video jumped to a different position right after it was done loading and said press start. he started the demo in the first part of the video then stopped it and put the disk in and then started recording again without moving the camera much. but it did move a little wich is why it jumped.

This isn't rocket science here you don't even need to edit the video if you have two PS3's
The first PS3 has the disk preloaded. The second is there for the camera and it's turned on.
There is no evidence that the PS3 being shown is the PS3 running the game. >.<

Even if this is real, it's been thought of before. The reason nobody goes for this method is because it is EASILY defeated. All you have to do is perform a CRC/MD5 check on the file to check integrity and the exploit is voided.

How can they run a full ISO when the PS3 only works with the FAT32 file system? i.e 4GB limit, unless they've also found a way to split the iso into smaller files and the PS3 still recognise them.

4.1 - Not Fat32
PS3 use fat32 only for external drive.
for internal drive PS3 have is own partition type and can have files more than 4Gb. If you find a method to write on PS3 partition from Linux example, you can write file more than 4Gb.
But i think this video is a fake.

CFS = Cryptographic Filesystem
it's a encrypted version of NFS.
but it's possible PS3 use CFS, i don't checked that.

AH my reply was rushed (good way of saying I was wrong :P). Apparently its a modified version of ext2 or 3, but we may never know what the original system is because of hypervisor.

Possibilities:
- Hacked the OS through Linux
- Able to install the game through a proxy server while tricking the PS3 in thinking it's downloading the demo. (This has already been defeated but there MAY be work-arounds.)
- As for the FAT32 4GB(minus 2 bytes) file size limit, there may be ways to package many smaller file in a way that they act as a compressor.

Yep, all good ideas and possible methods (sure your not a secret haxor?) but I just would like to hear it coming from him, to see if he has the knowledge to back-up the what the video claims.
That to me, would make it far more believable than the video on it's own.

During the load screen there's a video jump edit bit, you can notice the video jumps and the screen gets a bit brighter(@ 1.41min), so what he did was play the demo till the load screen then cut the cam, switched to the full game, and start the cam again when the load screen shows
Just a guess but that's what it looks like he did.

I call BS and will continue to do so until they prove it to be true, okay they prove there is no disk in the machine but they could have another PS3 hooked up off screen.
If that is not the case then why don't they press triangle on the madden icon in the xmb go to the information and bring up the file size?
One more thing piracy sucks!

Put off when I saw the Windows Movie Maker blue screen white text intro screen.
Nope. If this group are such 'h@korz geniuses' then why can't they edit a simple Movie Maker file to make it seem more legit and be taken seriously?
Anyway, piracy sucks and one of the reasons developers moved away from the PSP recently, so we don't need this junk.

Could have another ps3 we don't see off screen running the game. In any event, I'd like to know how he did it; if he did do it. This would be a pretty slick trick on "some" games. Games you don't feel are worthy enough to get up and put a disc in and such. sports games, puzzle games, racing games are a few genre's I can think of that would be great to use this feature for. Games that you want to play but know you probably never will if you have to get up and get them from a line up of other games you want to play more.
