Socom Confrontation Public Beta Update

Due to overwhelming demand for the SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation Public Beta, we are experiencing load related issues. These issues are causing abnormal latency, disconnects, long load times, login errors and community features such as clans and stats not functioning correctly (or at all).

We are doing everything we can to resolve these issues as quickly as possible and you should see some improvements progressively over the next couple of days. However, we do not expect to have the issues completely resolved until close to the end of next week.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

1.1 - I think its a cost thing really.

They apparently dont want to dish out too much bandwith and not need that much than have too little for the gamers in the beta.

They should've learned from MGO's mistakes too. Planning a controlled beta should be like planning a party. Always have more <beer/food/whatever> than you expect to serve. They know how many keys are out there. I'm getting tired of people saying to us "stop b1tching". They should've been prepared for this. That being said, I know problems can occur and I'm getting in for free...so it's not that big of a deal. I can wait for a couple more days.

Man I know what the f@ck. When they release a full completely done game to the public it should have no bugs oh wait thats right its a beta. Well when I pay all this money too... oh ya I didn't pay anything. You all are pathetic. Apparently no one got the memo, beta = test. Which means lets see how the servers hold up. Lets see if the game lags. You all need to realize this.
When the full game is released and it still has these issues everyone feel free to complain. But if you where expecting a masterpiece out of a beta. Maybe you shouldn't be apart of betas anymore.

1. You can change the view to classic like i did, lol. Go to options while your in the game and change the view to "classic"
2. He said the lag issues were because of the huge number of people that logged on at once (more people than I saw on SOCOM3/CA last time I logged on)

3. The game is slower now, hopefully they see the amount of complaints about this. It feels like SOCOM...but in slow motion.
4. I am having lots of fun with this game.

They've also downgraded the graphics too. See image to see a picture from 07, one of the first screenshots Sony showed us of the new Socom, and compared to a beta screenshot of this year...

The main thing I'm pointing out in terms of graphics are the player model textures, notice how nice, crisp, sharp they looked back in 07, and now in 08, what we have now, they're blurry, flat, and yea...idk, I also put another 07 screenshot too, which looks a ton better then what we're playing now

I understand this is a beta but come on! It's a broken nightmare on line and I've just given up at this point. How can we test a game if we cant even play it? They have total control over how many people are in the beta and they should of been prepared for it. Not sending a good message to other devs who want to beta test on the PSN.

Is pretty fun.

Customization is really good, weapons are detailed, I only played it for like half an hour though.

Controls are confusing at first! Make sure you test out all controls!

But after playing the beta, this is the best socom yet. It is a blast to play. Basically Counter Strike for consoles. Graphics aren't that bad either. Much better than the images shown

who made out all those pre-order vouchers and who allowed each one to be share.....basic match skillz and network capacity is most def. lacking....as soon as I heard I could share with others, I knew there would be a problem....ironic thang is I d/l the 1.6 G file in < 10 mins

This game is not ready by far. The graphics are not together and the game glitches alot. The controls are lost in the apple sauce. When I pick classic in the game if you zoom once it goes to over t he shoulder(Stop that S...t)I want to lean damnit. Once again like Socom 3 its slow movement even with only a pistol..Huh. That is why I should of got invited to the closed beta. I can point out alot of things. I am the orginial beta tester of Zippers Socom, 2,3 etc.

This is not a real beta.. Beta are for games that are coming out 6 months away not 1 month. This is a pre-demo and truthfully it sucks and thats coming from me and all the orginial socom players. We use to call out sick to play socom all day and I am at work right now. The first socom beta/game that didn't make me stay home tonight...Wow!

Don't let them get away with it. Seriously. Send them an e-mail of feedback showing your disapproval. Perhaps then they will work to put it up to the standard you expect. Its good alot of this issues are identified now so hopefully these issues will be resolved when the final game is out.

I don't play online so this game is really dead to me anyway but you guys should keep Sony on their toes about it because you guys are going to play it.

4 - The beta is far from broken

Ive been playing all day, and the only time I ever had any problems is when people would enter and leave during the game. It was like the game paused for a half a second. Also, it only took me 10 minutes to download, and I have dsl! All you guys that are talking crap about this game have either not played it yet, or are a bunch of bots wishin that you could play this game, but you cant because you cant afford a ps3, nor will your mommy buy you one. Poor little boys.

I think that this game is probably the best game on the ps3 as of right now, and its not even the full version. I was never a fan of Socom till I got into this beta. I was sold after my first kill. The graphics might not be up their with Uncharted and Metal Gear, but the fun factor and realism is off the hook. You bots couldn't see a good game if it slapped you and called you momma. Also, to all of you people who have a ps3 and haven't played it, I suggest you shut your mouth and play it before you start your little immature temper tantrums. Pop you mouth off your momma's t*tty and grow some n*ts.

it took me like 10 mins to download but it takes me like an hour to get connected to anything, and keep in mind im one of the biggest socom fans, i guess you are one of the lucky ones and i agree, this game is phenomenal and im not gunna hate on a beta cause all betas have problems and this is my first one so im not gunna complain but it does get really frustrating when all it does is load for like an hour and all you can do is experiment buy turning you ps3 on and off on and off ya know. but all in all i got connected and was playing for the past hour and this game is pure CRACK and is the greatest thing EVER man im just really happy it finally came and they said they will fix the beta within the next couple of days and i am really happy about that also.

oh and yea the realism in this game is incredible from the past socoms, this game is the best and will always be the best and will never stop being the best! : P : ) PEROID! nothing on the f*ckbox can compete, that sh*t is pure lame XD, TIME TO BUY A PS3 M(_)THA FU#KERS!!!
