SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation Public Beta goes live tomorrow!

Socom.com writes: "We apologize to everyone for the inconvenience of the SOCOM: Confrontation Public Beta delay. However, I am happy to say that everything has now been worked out and the SOCOM: Confrontation Public Beta will go live in North America tomorrow for anyone who has preordered at GameStop/EB GAMES. You must be registered for the SOCOM: Confrontation Public Beta using the instructions provided on the GameStop/EB GAMES SOCOM: Confrontation Public Beta voucher to get your SOCOM: Confrontation Public Beta code.

Assuming you've already registered, here is what to expect. At around 10am Pacific Daylight Time, e-mails containing the SOCOM: Confrontation Public Beta PSN codes will start going out in bursts. The e-mails will start arriving at e-mail in-boxes throughout the day. The e-mail will be sent to the PSN login e-mail address you provided when you registered for the SOCOM: Confrontation Public Beta. Maybe you should read the article? It says it in there...

There's 2 ways to get in:

1. Pre-order the game at GameStop/EB Games and get a voucher from them with a code in it.

2. Buy (I think) next week's QORE and there will be a code.

still waiting to see how this game turns out...I don't want to preorder it yet, because I played very little of the originals...but I know it has an insane following...

oh well...hopefully a few more videos and hands on stuff leaks out over the next month...its almost like I don't want it to be that great, because there are already like 4 definite first day buys for me in October/November as it is...let alone getting all the trophies in Warhawk...

I agree it isn't...but that distinction should be dropped altogether...the only difference between confrontation and a real fps is that you actually see your guy...instead of just the gun...but it handles just like any true shooter...left stick moves/strafes...right stick free aims...thats a first person shooter...Gears and Socom are technically different from a fps, but only because of whats on screen...

now Uncharted and MGS4...those are third person shooters...they handle totally differently...but you could call Socom and Uncharted both a TPS...which is very misleading...either way...they are all 'shooters', which is what matters...

Socom is a Third person shooter over the shoulder there is nothing misleading about it. FPS=first person see the gun. over the shoulder=Third person nothing misleading just what they are.

thats so the servers dont crash. the HOME beta is doing it the same way, i garentee the 5 day delay was to add more servers for the public beta cause their will be alot of people attending.

I'll have to wait a week because I have Qore. I would pre-order the game BUT I've never played a SOCOM game before so I want to make sure it's my style. I don't mind waiting though as my Warhawk will arrive in another two days.

Really psyched for this beta though, even if I'll be waiting a wee bit longer. Unless of course someone out their has an extra code they'd like to share? Haha, I'm not begging or anything. I just heard they give you a few codes with your preorder and maybe someone out their has no one else to give it to anyway.

I love all Socom games as well but only the ones on the consoles. Socom wasn't the same on the PSP. The PSP having only one joystick ruined it for me.

Anyone want to donate their beta code? I really need it to support my PS3 family. Wait not actually; I'm going to be watching Season 2 Heroes on Blu Ray this weekend, but I still wouldn't mind being in the beta. Hopefully Sony awards their G.A.P something since a lot of use got screwed over on the Home beta, well at least I did. I was gone when the registrations were up.
