How could they allow "sharing music" anyway wouldnt that be the same as peer-to-peer networks like bittorrent and limewire, just think of the lawsuits

Well by "sharing" I hope they just mean sending the actual files from 1 person to another...I mean I hope we'll still be able to stream music and video off our hdd, those were the 2 features I was hyped for, come on Sony don't drop the ball here...

Do you really think Sony (or any company for that matter) would all video transfer? If by transfer They mean copying and sending the file to a friend.. I mean Bit Torrent a movie and send it to a friend... No company would allow that.. Now They didnt say Streaming a video to a friend is cut out.. So they are prolly just doing what any other company would do.. Protecting their investment.. I bet you will still be able to stream video and Music.. Also they will prolly have something in place to protect against Dirty movies..

Its also funny to see people complaining like this is all home has to offer or something.. Its 2 features out of 100s maybe 1000s

A rumor explaining that Sony as a respectable electronics manufacturer don't condone piracy on a FREE social service, its the end of the freaking world.

why not just have the videos stream only in your room and not downloadable or transferable. Or have it where the only movies you can stream are movies you pay for off PSN or rent. I'm sure those are locked to keep from being copied. This is a huge part of Home and for them to just take it out sucks.

Not surprising, those features cannot be done without the possibility of lawsuits.

They may still allow your own video content and music for your personal area, you just won't be sharing it via download.

It's a bit disappointing but it makes sense, I'm still looking forward to home.

Is the article saying you wont be able to give movies/music to your friends (they can download it and then save it) or you cant stream it from your PS3 to the people around you in your home or what ever? because if its the first im totaly fine with that, i mean it would be like limewire and other illegal sites like that as long as i can stream them in and have like a movie day.

I think that's it. I can start up a random conversation with someone over VOIP in any game (if it worked on any of my games but I think that's my connection), or go on any forum or chatroom. If I want to speak to my PSN friends I can message them or start a voice/video chat. Customization is redundant if I don't use home in the first place so I'm going to skip that. I might want to show off my pictures. I could check out the spaces for the games I own, but then since so few games will be supported it wouldn't take me long. In-home game launching is restrictive compared to the tools in the games themselves, and is supported by a minority of titles. So I won't really want to use this. The games in home are worse than most of the cheap PSN titles I own, so I'll give them a miss just as I have all the low-budget rubbish titles on PSN. Buy stuff and view adverts - no thanks.

So for me, as I see it, I won't need or want to use home. And that's presuming my list of launch features is accurate. I would like to know other people's views on home. I asked before what home was for and I got shot down. So now I'm going to ask if my list of launch features is going to be (more or less) correct, and what other people think of those features of home and why they will use home because of them.

I just got this e-mail back from Sony after having e-mailed them this morning about getting an invite to HOME beta:

On Thursday, August 28, 2008, Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) will

This was one of the main reasons I wanted Home, now they are taking it out. If it isn't in Home, I WILL be pissed off. I am extremely disappointed. I feel almost as bad as when I realized that I bought Eye of Judgement, Two Worlds, and a HD DVD player add-on for my 360. Also, why do people care so much about Youtube support? In my honest opinion, Youtube was always lame.
